This small lodge has 4 casitas and is about a 15 minute drive from the San Jose airport located just above the city of Alajuela. To be honest we were not sure whether to stay here or somewhere closer to the airport, but we found out we made the right decision. The lodge is secure within a gated compound and...

We spent 2 nights in this beautiful place. The rooms are huge and clean, the garden is amazing and perfectly maintained. The owner Nadine is nice and helpful. This hotel is perfect if you have a car and don't want to sleep in a boring big hotel in San Jose.

This small lodge is a short drive from the airport. It has nice gardens and our room (Bambu) was fine. We weren't there much as we were out sight-seeing during the day but all was well while we were there. We had arranged car hire via the lodge and that worked out fine. The only issue we had was that...

Composed of only four casitas, this lodge is nestled in the hills above Alajuela. Beautifully landscaped, you feel as if you are miles away from the nearest city. Each casita is decorated with a theme. We stayed in Casita Bambu, painted in shades of green with a bambu poster bed with mosquito netting. The lovely bathroom is tiled in tones...

By out-of-the-way I mean that you are not in a town, so you cannot walk to anything [except one restaurant]. That is the negative side - the only one to this place. It is quiet and peaceful. Beautiful [though small] grounds make a nice walk from your cabana to the breakfast terrace every morning. Breakfast was very nice. Rooms spacious....

We landed in San Jose and drove directly to Tacacori. The relief we felt upon arrival was immense and not just because we drove through rush our, but because we realized that we had gotten what we were hoping for. The lodge made us feel that Costa Rica was going to be great. Secluded but not too far off the...

Tacacori was a gorgeous oasis on the outskirts of San Jose. There are only 4 cottages at this eco-lodge, and each is set in a private, beautiful, lush garden. After the long flight to San Jose and going through customs, etc., it was heavenly to arrive at this spot. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the lovely, private patio...

Amazing grounds, nice rooms, great breakfast. It's a great place to stay for a few nights when your flying in or out. It's only a 20 minute drive to the airport. And if you stay here make sure you go to xandari resort next door for lunch or supper, you won't be disappointed!

She made us feel like family and was always available and helpful. The gardens are lush and full of birds. The casita ' s are all beautiful and very clean. The shower is better than at home. It...
