We stopped for lunch at the restaurant and weāre extremely happy with authentic Costa Rican food. The chef made extra effort to make each dish, very presentable and delicious. Prices seemed very reasonable considering that the food was high-quality gourmet but also authentic Costa Rican at the same time. There is also a lovely trail on the property, beautiful gardens, and even some games if you bring children. The restaurant overlooks lovely gardens with a nice atmosphere.

We traveled to La Fortuna June 2024 and were so happy to have found this gem of a hotel! The individual cabins are located among a lush, tropical landscape making it feel as if your cabin is the only one there! The pictures on their website appear old as the landscape is now fully grown making the other cabins almost impossible to view due to how big and lush the landscaping was. The reception are/restaurant are also different than in the website pictures and are open-air with beautiful views of the surrounding rainforest. Our cabin (#8) was perfect and the views from our back porch were amazing! We also had a private hot tub behind our room (which was very private, and surrounded by the same lush, tropical landscaping all around the hotel). The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great with plenty of storage for our clothes, a safe, hairdryer, etc. we also had a small fridge, microwave, dishes/utensils, and coffeemaker. There is also a trail through the jungle which leads down to the crystal clear cool waters of a beautiful river. We saw all sorts of wildlife on the property while on the trail (as well as from our back porch). The restaurant food was very good and the hotel staff were very responsive and accommodating. We did not have a vehicle but there are two restaurants within walking distance as well as a small convenience store. Cab and Uber drivers were easy to access and not very expensive. We were offered a voucher for complementary drinks at the on-site bar as well as one complimentary breakfast. We would definitely stay here agin!

Excellent location, with car about 5 minutes to town and quite a few attractions, including La Fortuna Falls and Bogarin Trail. The room was very spacious and clean, the property landscape is beautiful and well kept to attract all kinds of birds, there is a short trail in the property that takes you to the river side, very peaceful Family owned and operated, we met two incredible young men, Isaac and Kevin, very respectful, courteous and responsible, my compliments to them. will definitely go back. thanks

Great place to stay with plenty of birds around and if you are lucky like us, you will see howler monkey around early in the morning. It is very close to many area attractions. We had the family suite for 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and it was perfect. Kevin, one of the staff, is very friendly. The only reason I couldnāt give 5 was because the TV didnāt work and they couldnāt fix it. But other than that everything else was good. Breakfast is $10 per person and I wish they have more options (only 4 options available).

This is a family operated small hotel which is surrounded by a beautiful lush greens. If you are looking for luxury, this is not it. But if you like to support local businesses and like to stay in local, non-chain type of hotels, this one is a gem. Cabin style rooms with a little patio in the back with a hammock for you to relax on overlooking the garden. There is a patio and chairs in front of the room too. Staff was friendly and helpful and took care of our needs. It's only 3 km away from majestic La Fortuna waterfall. the one thing I did not like was it needs more light inside the room since you don't get a lot of daylight (and especially at night the room feels a little dark) and doors are a little hard to open and close but it might be usual for places that get a lot of rain due to how wood reacts to rainy weather. There is a restaurant right next door which serves a wide variety of food so if you come back hungry and tired and don't want to take a 5 minute taxi ride to town, this restaurant (not owned by hotel) serves a wide variety of food and smoothies. They have a ping pong table near the front desk so you can play ping pong when you are waiting for your tour taxi to pick you up. One other recommendation, if you can get cabins in the back (not facing the road), that might be helpful because the town wakes up early and you hear noise of vehicles from the road early in the morning.

The hotel was very nice. You are about a 20-30 minute walk from La Fortuna central. I walked it several times. Taxis are expensive. I used the La Fortuna shuttle and uber once. The staff was very helpful and always offering suggestions. The AC unit was loud and I slept better when it was cool enough not to use it. Restaurant next door is fantastic. I ate there twice.

What a mediocre experience! The only thing i liked about this accommodation was the beautiful surroundings and the really nice staff. They do a great job greeting you and being cordial. If you need a towel or have a maintenance request they act quickly. We were upgraded to the deluxe cabin. When I viewed the room, i was not too impressed so asked to see the superior room that I had originally booked as it was listed on their website as romantic. They said they didnāt have that room available. Pretty deceptive in my opinion. The room was full of ants and the bathroom had a seriously funky smell from a bad sewage system, i would imagine. We tried a couple times to have them fix it, but it would only temporarily mask the problem for a day or two. This hotel is good if you are passing through and looking for a place to rest your head for the night or get a good price. I paid over $700 for a week (not including breakfast) The manager gave $20 off for the inconveniences. Laughable

I stayed here in one of their larger suites with young children. The room was comfortable and the air conditioners worked well. The TV was "smart" which the kids really liked (could connect to Netflix). Internet was very speedy which is a big plus. Breakfast is nice, and my kids really, really enjoyed the river trail. We saw many frogs, birds, and even a turtle!
Our family-sized unit was closest to the road so we could hear some of the road traffic - but with fun-packed days, we were able to sleep without any major issues.

Had an excellent stay at Rancho Cerro Azul. Isaac and Kevin were fabulous hosts - incredibly helpful at organizing our tours and making us feel welcome at their beautiful resort. The Ginger Bar on the property was adorable - we played a rowdy game of jenga and had cocktails under the night-lit tiki hut. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast delicious. The restaurant down the road El Chante Verde was excellent, as well as the pupusa spot. Nearby souvenir spot for locally made pottery and wood bowls, and the chocolate tour also up the road. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back. Thank you Rancho Cerry Azul for being so welcoming!

Hotel Cerro Azul was gorgeous. My friends and I spent a few nights at the hotel for our friendās birthdays. Such a beautiful place to stay! The staff was friendly and accommodating to any requests we had. We went to the bar and had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious. Within walking distance of the hotel there were places to visit and explore. A great chance to get to know the locals. The hotel was also a perfect destination if youāre looking to do tours, like the volcano tour, zip lining, or a chocolate tour as it was a hub for bus pick up if you do not have your own car. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for what we needed! We all felt at home whether it was because of the staff or just the overall atmosphere! If youāre looking to book a trip, I canāt recommended this place enough!
