The Park Princess of the Moon Ecolodge is nestled in a lush tropical plant farm with a great location. This magical place is unusual, with more than 100 types of fruit trees, including many threatened and endangered species. Staying at Princesa De Luna ecolodge was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip. We are family of 4 with 2 kids 13 and 10 and spent 4 nights. William and his team were excellent. We did waterfall hike with William on the property and also had breakfast and dinner a few times and it was good. The best part was surrounded by lush greenery, birds, beautiful views. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and beds are comfortable and the WiFi was good. The last 1/2 mile to the hotel is unpaved road, so an SUV preferably a 4x4 is recommended. We directly booked the room by contacting the owner Jonathan with WhatsApp ( his contact is on hotel website) and he was very responsive and gave us a reasonable price. If you are looking for a rustic stay in middle of nature, then you will like it.

Where does one begin? If you are looking for a run of the mill, cookie cutter, tourist experience; Princessa de la Luna is not for you. However; if beautiful views, Mother Nature, natural spring fed pools, fresh flowing streams, wildlife, exploration, welcoming staff, and local flare are more up your alley..look no further. La Fortuna is an absolute gem nestled in the middle of an amazing country. The ecolodge furthers the enjoyment of such a unique, and breathtaking location. Quick access to hot springs, cascading waterfalls, wildlife tours, local swimming holes, and many great restaurants are just a few of the many enjoyments to be had when staying at this establishment. Not enough can be said when complimenting the unique experience of lodging within the confines of this amazing piece of property. Hiking with furry companions, waking up to a choir of birdsong, and interacting with a staff that feels more like family are just a few of the many reasons why you don’t want to sleep on this establishment.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Princesa de La Luna ecolodge nestled in the Lush rainforest near La Fortuna. The room was spacious and lovely, providing a perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. The natural beauty of the location is unparalleled; we had breathtaking views of the Mount Arenal volcano and surrounding rainforest. Waking up to the sounds of the rainforest and the sight of wildlife around the property is an experience I’ll never forget. The property is large with many hiking trails, and we saw toucans, tayra, and other animals on our walks.

The adventure tour, led by William (the hotel manager), was also a huge highlight – it was a perfect blend of education and adventure. We followed a river through the Lost Canyon area of the rainforest, stopping to dip in springs, rinse off under a lovely waterfall, and learn about the plants and animals of the area. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply looking for an unforgettable adventure, this tour is a must-do. It offers a rare chance to connect with nature in a profound and meaningful way.

The staff at the ecolodge were also excellent. William was incredibly attentive and accommodating, and made sure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. He arranged transportation to local attractions or drove us there himself, and made great recommendations for local activities and travel to our next destination.

We highly recommend Princesa de la Luna to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in Costa Rica! It’s a true paradise for nature lovers and anyone seeking either tranquility or adventure.

I do not know even where to begin. The hospitality and customer service is unmatched by any i've ever experienced in my life. Stephen and William went over and beyond for us. They stayed very late in the evening because we ran behind due to an accident and flight delay and the weather they still stayed and had dinner waiting for us and as to make sure we arrived safley. In the morning they took us on an amazing excursion with a lovely breakfast waiting for us. This place was absolutely beautiful as far as the views and the atmosphere it is a little more roughing it then you're normal place, there's no AC and no TV But it is very cool at night so it wasn't an issue and your not here for TV nor will you energy to. We stayed at 3 different locations during our visit to Costa Rica and this was by far my favorite just from strictly the nice kind nature of Steven and William they did everything they could to book things for us at a better rate than what we could find on our own. Also during the excursion of the grounds to the waterfall he had us taste different plants and fruit it was just amazing honesty I can't even find the words to explain how amazing this place was And the staff. You will not regret it. Also make sure you rent a SUV it is worth the cost difference and you will need it for many of the places you travel to including here. Also bring a small powerful flashlight it will come in handy at night and in the room.

I cannot say enough about the quality of experience our family had at Princesa de la Luna.

We had our family of 17 ranging in age from 4 to 70 for my father's 70th birthday. The accommodations suited our family of 6 children and 11 adults perfectly with each small family having their own rooms. The property layout embraces the jungle experience with open air seating, kitchen and dining, incredible views and short, but somewhat technical, walks to 2 separate swimming locations.

While all of this was incredible, what really sets this place apart from others I have visited is the quality and kindness of the staff. William and the staff are a group of wonderful individuals! We did the adventure tour on the property with our whole group and William led us through the jungle explaining what different plants were and letting us taste different fruits and herbs. We then hiked into a waterfall and down through the creek to the natural swimming pool where there was the option for a therapeutic mud bath.

William and the staff also cooked every morning and night for our entire group and every meal was incredible. They even roasted a pig on the open wood fired oven for my father's birthday dinner complete with cake.

We loved staying at Princesa de la Luna, we are a family with children age 14 & 4. The ecolodge is set in complete immersion with the rainforest, so you will experience all the weather (in March, this meant varying degrees of rain on and off) and the sounds of a dozen species of birds at all times. We found it glorious. It was an amazing experience for the kids. My 14 year old loved the calm (and the hammocks) . My 4 year old amused himself with sticks, leaves, rocks and the 3 dogs who visited us often.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa. It was more spacious, clean and comfortable than I expected for a jungle cabin, and from some previous reviews. We had everything we needed to prepare some food, relax, and spread out. The 3 bedroom villa is a great choice. If you are looking for a pristine, well-sealed hotel room, you are looking in the wrong place. This is immersion with nature and there will be some geckos and insects in your room. Nothing that bites, in our experience.

We had dinner once and breakfast twice. The food was delicious every time. And plentiful!

The jungle pool was lovely, in a beautiful setting. There were tadpoles growing up in the pool. We were reassured it was safe to swim by an expert at one of our nature tours (and by William).

We did the jungle tour- don’t miss it! I loved walking through the river but the walk was challenging for my 4 year old and would be for anyone elderly or with mobility issues.

William and Anderson were very available and helpful in person and via what’s app, all day long. They set us up with drivers for our excursions and cross-country drive from the airport and to the beach. The drivers had nice cars, were reliable and kind.

Princesa de la Luna is a one of a kind experience. You won’t just be visiting the rainforest, you will be living it.

My friends and I had an incredible stay at the Princesa de la Luna Ecolodge. Nearby trails take you effortlessly to two different pools and a gorgeous waterfall. The workers have invested significant time and energy into making Princesa de la Luna the most gorgeous area around. Breakfast accommodations are easily made at the main lodge, or you can walk just a minute downhill to Chichas Restaurant & Bar. The Ecolodge is just far enough from downtown La Fortuna to feel isolated from city-life without giving up the convenience of a nearby town. I would definitely return for another stay!

Our family stayed at the Princesa de la Luna for 6 absolutely amazing days!!! The experience is magical - we never ceased to be in awe of the creative and wondrous design of the lodge itself, and how beautifully it fit into the rainforest landscape. Living in a rainforest is quite thrilling, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the rich foliage, the beautiful views of the Arenal Volcano, and the musical sounds of nature all around. Some of our group would have been happier with fewer bugs, but that’s what there is in a rainforest…

The Adventure Tour with William and Steven and Jorlan was one of the highlights of our trip – walking through the rainforest, climbing in under the waterfall, and trekking through the brook till we got to the refreshing natural pool!

There are constantly things to discover at the Princesa - for example, the gorgeous pool in the jungle setting which is simply stunning, and the toucans who live in the tree right outside the window of one of the rooms.

The location is also excellent – very close to La Fortuna and all the amenities and attractions, but out in the countryside, where the unpaved access roads provide a natural segway into the world of the rainforest.

We were a group of 27 and had the whole lodge to ourselves, including use of the kitchen, which was very helpful as we keep kosher. William was extremely accommodating to all our requests to make the kitchen kosher, and he was gracious in every way about enabling us to cook kosher food for our large group. In fact, William and Steven were gracious in every way possible, helpful and thoughtful and comfortable to be around – the best possible representatives of “Pura Vida”!

The Princesa de la Luna is a wonderful place to stay for those who are happy to be in a natural, rustic setting, surrounded by incredible rainforest beauty and wonderful people!!!

The lodge itself is a large lush property with a dozen of cabins spread out literally in the rain forest including a hiking trail to spot wildlife and a waterfall. Accommodations are simple but provide all you need from clean linens, a private bathroom, kitchen and fridge. Freshly prepared local breakfast is available in the morning. Access is through a steep gravel road 10 min south of La Fortuna center. William is a wonderful host, very attentive and accommodating, ready to answer any question, assist in planning your activities. Staff was also super friendly!

My sister and I came here from New York and it was the best get-away I could imagine. The location is incredible because it is close to anything you could need or want, but the lodge is nestled within a lush environment full of vegetation. The rooms are clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. I highly recommend Princessa De La Luna for a tranquil, healing experience with every need accounted for. The Ecolodge offers amazing food, a pool, massage, excursions, and more.
