We stayed at Amor for two days and so wished we had stayed longer. This property is like being transported to another world. We learned the property had been an organic farm and still maintains all of the lush flora and fauna. The individual villas are gorgeous with beautiful wood, high ceilings, and windows. Each villa has its own private deck and plunge pool. The shower window wall is just like taking a shower in the rainforest without the bugs. The staff is fantastic! So attentive and kind. There is one restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast is included and is incredible. We also had lunch and dinner there. All meals were 5 star quality. I also had a facial treatment at the spa and it was one of the very best spa experiences I have ever had. The property has two hiking trails. My husband and I hiked the easier one twice. It was just beautiful and challenging enough to work up a sweat. My only suggestions would be to have loungers at the pools instead of just Adirondack chairs. I found them to not be comfortable for an extended time. However, fabulous swim up bar and great craft cocktails. We will definitely return!!

Our family has travelled the World but has rarely had such an amazing experience as our stay at Amor Arenal in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. From reception to departure we were constantly surprised by gestures and efforts of service and accommodation throughout our visit. We were happy to arrive at reception with a warm welcome and an arrangement of local artisanal coffee, teas and cookies for refreshment. The exclusive casitas are spectacular and carefully enveloped by delightful rainforest sights and sounds. Colorful vegetation and singing birds and rainforest animals lull you to sleep each night and wake you gently every morning. Even rain showers provide a magical sound on the vaulted ceilings lined with bamboo. Super high thread count linens, pillows and comforters make for a a luxurious night sleep and a generously stocked fridge make each room a treat to return to for any reason. Private whirlpools are a relaxing and rejuvenating addition to every room and a great place to enjoy the surrounding rainforest. Double showers have massive windows looking privately into the rainforest cascading below. The pool area has a relaxing waterfall and surprisingly delicious ceviche, octopus tacos and poke bowls. But it was the innovative craft cocktails with exotic local fruit infusions and emulsions created by the talented mixologist, Oscar, at the heated salt water swim-up bar that we will never forget. Breakfasts are enhanced by super-friendly Ronald and his happy cart of delicious fresh juices, mimosas and Bloody Marys. The tropical fruits and outstanding fresh breakfasts served by super attentive and gracious, Roman, at the edge of the tropical rainforest are surrounded by ginger blossoms and birds of paradise under the watchful eye of Arenal Volcano. Dining was excellent with top flight steaks, lamb chops and duck risotto. The wine selection was spectacular with outstanding wines from Argentina, Chile, Spain and Australia personally selected by Enrique. Service, especially from attentive and engaging, Roman, was some of the finest and friendliest we have ever experienced. Massage- Expertly trained masseuses employ various massage techniques with aromatherapy and hot rocks not to be missed. My wife saw monkeys swinging from trees in the rainforest canopy around the massage area. Yoga- A must-do to start your day well oxygenated, stretched out and flexible. You will feel awesome and amazing all day long thanks to a wonderful yoga instructor. This is especially valuable at altitude and with many eco-adventure activities. Meditation- Above and beyond service: The hotel manager, Gina, tried to assist my son find an accessory for his GoPro camera. She called numerous shops. No store in La Fortuna or our next destination, Manuel Antonio had it for sale. So, she contacted her friends and family and got one for him. Absolutely incredible and amazing above and beyond client service. Truly unforgettable and absolutely spectacular experience!

Having read all the wonderful reviews my wife and I came here expecting to be blown away. Everything was fine but not great. The food is kind of basic and we ate better in town (shout out to Don Rufinos). The property is on a very steep hill so you are forced to use their golf carts all the time which are not always available or reliable. The only thing that stands out is the staff which is wonderful. Hotel is fine but given how expensive it is I was underwhelmed. Didn't feel very "sustainable" to have a hot tub running 24 hours a day at 100 degrees....

Dear K6922CXrobertj, Thank you so much for your feedback, it is really important to us and our team. We sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations on this occasion, we are countinously working to offer and deliver the best experience to all ours guests, so can rest assured that we will address your comments properly to improve for our future guests. On the other hand, it is great to know that our staff made a possitive impact on your experience; thank you for pointing out their hard work. Finally, I would like to refer to your concern about the hot tub, since sustainability has always been part of our priorities. That is why our sping water heaters are running just 10 hours a day unless the guest requests a change in the heater programming of their room. Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back soon. Best regards. Erick lizano General Manager
