This hotel was cheap. Don't plan on staying in it for very long. The bathrooms were dirty, sink was clogged, air conditioner barely worked, smelled nasty, puddles of water on the floor, white bugs crawling on me all night. The plus side is that the owner was really nice to us and it was safe. If somebody just put a...

Hotel El Volcan is about 2 blocks off the town square, convenient to dining and shopping. The property is clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff is helpful. The only complaint I have is that the room wasn't dark enough, between the sheer curtains and the light directly outside the window. The common area, with complimentary coffee, is a...

At $50ish dollars a night it was worth it. The location was absolutely perfect, 5min walking from the heart of the town. The people who run the hotel were extremely friendly and were willing to answer all questions we had. The fact that they spoke english was a bonus. The rooms are basic and if you're picky about pillows and...

The hotel is in the heart of Fortuna. The rooms are very basic but the beds need new mattresses and the pillows are very old and smelly. The TV remote control did not work. In the bathroom there is no window and needs extra ventilation. The manager is friendly but that was not enough for me to stay there never...

This small hotel is well situated in the centre of La Fortuna and the owner is friendly. The room is fine, clean with thin but clean bedding and towels. But the bathroom floor corners were greasy and grubby, although the toilet, shower and basin were fine. A cockroach made a brief appearance. So I would just say the owner should take a...

the hotel manager is super helpful and friendly, and is always prepared to offer advice and information. He can also help with booking tours (hot springs was good) and transfers to other places in Costa Rica. The rooms are a bit basic, but have good AC, are clean and have comfy beds. Overall very good value in this area.

Luis at the front desk was incredible! He was polite, patient, and very accommodating. He helped us book many excursions, despite our several changes of plans. He also had some wonderful recommendations regarding activities to do in the area. The room was very clean and well-kept. The hotel is simple yet has everything you need, especially for the price. It's...

For the price it's ok. It's just 35$ when you book directly in the hotel. The owner is very friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms are very basic and simple, they are a bit rocked off... We had a room with two queen-size beds, so there was enough space for 4 persons. The mattresses were quite old and uncomfy, but...

Me and my boyfriend have been in hotel el volcan for a week. The place is very welcoming, the rooms are the cleanest we have ever been in costa rica. The ac works and there is hot water with good water pressure. Wifi is excellent. The area is at the centre and very quiet. There is a common kitchenette were...
