Las Cabañitas, situated at La Fortuna’s eastern fringe provided a comfortable two-night stay in a neatly furnished unit situated in the far back corner of the property. Based on most other TA reviews, my stay was far better than expected. Walking to or from the town center is not easy, yet local taxis are readily available. On the other hand,...

Juan Carlos is EXTREMELY friendly and gracious. No, this is not a five star resort, but the cabins are nice and clean. Breakfast was pretty good and the coffee was great. We stayed there two nights (because they were booked) and got along just fine.

Stayed here for 2 nights while in La Fortuna. My room was on the grubby side and consisted of a single queen bed. The room had an ant problem as I found a trail of ants in my luggage. The were also many annoying bugs in the room. The entire property is run down and in need of some help....

Pros: Quite close to town Has certain character Big shower Big beds Cons: Bland room Wifi only available at reception Hot water intermittent No wardrobes Pillows are poor Staff not friendly Breakfast is a rip off - not much for your money at all. This place could be better and has the potential but just seems to be a place...

My family of 4 spent the night, along with my sister-in-law and her family. While the cabins were adorable, there was no hot water. We were given 2 thin towels and when I asked for 2 more, I was told "no." I can deal with that. My kids swam in the pool for about an hour. The next morning my...

Cute little individual cabins and a swimming pool. We visited off season and unfortunately the pool was not clean, really disapointing as the weather was still good enough to use it! The best part was the view from my porch... In the evening we had a beautiful sunset over Arenal Volcano whilst it was pouring with rain and a double...

This is a very cute hotel, located slightly outside the city centre but easily in walking distance. There were twin room chalets each with a porch and a rocking chair outside. Rooms were clean and looking at past reviews on TripAdvisor, many people said there were stains on the bed, but I found nothing but clean sheets and from the...

My son traveled to Costa Rica with a tour group and had the misfortune of staying at Las Cabanitas for two nights. He said the flowers were pretty, but that does not make up for the fact that his tablet, along with some school-issued iPads and other assorted devices, were stolen from his room. The kids were swimming at the...

The hotel looks nice from the outside, but I wouldn't stay there again. The comforters and sheets on our beds had gross stains and did not appear to have been washed. We got locked in our room when the key would not open the lock from the inside, which clearly happened a lot because the screen on the window had...

The grounds of this hotel are beautiful, as are the facades of the cabins that you stay in. Unfortunately, the accommodations inside have seen better days. They are older and in need of renovations and better upkeep. I was traveling with a group, and one of our rooms had so many bugs in it that they had to come in...
