This hotel is amazing. When we arrived we were greeted with a mocktail and checked in. We were then popped on a buggy to take us to our room. We didn’t need it though as we were lucky enough to have a room on the front row. I filmed a walk through of the room because I was so impressed with it. Small and perfect for what you need for a 3 day stay. Two beds again which does feel excessive but we only used one. The hot springs are crazy. The top one is very hot! We only lasted 10-15 mins in it but you don’t need any longer. The heat takes your breath away a bit and you can’t turn the cold tap on like you can with a bath 😅. The pool with two bars is brilliant. We had some of the nicest cocktails in there throughout our whole stay in Costa Rica. All the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Day 1 we arrived around 1pm so just spent the day in the springs and had a lovely evening meal in the Italian. The server was such a character. He did a little dance when opening our wine and clearly loves his job and making people smile. Day 2 - breakfast is a buffet where you can have anything you want. Perfect to try some of the Costa rican breakfast foods without committing to a huge portion. Then we were picked up for white water rafting (review of that will be separate as different company) When we got back to the hotel straight to the pool to chill for the night and have some drinks in there. We didn’t eat an evening meal this night as we were still full from lunch. Day 3 we were picked up to go and explore the volcano and the waterfall (again separate review for this as another company) I’m the evening we decided to try the restaurant where we have breakfast in the morning and wow. I’ve never seen a bigger hunk of meat for a special. He had the porterhouse rump steak and I had the Mexican soup. Great food! They sat us in a little booth which was actually quite romantic. The next day we were picked up to travel to monteverde. This is where I can say the staff were at their best. Our transfer was 30 mins late before I started to worry a bit and the staff stepped up and called the company to make sure they were on their way. They were 45 mins late but they arrived and knowing the reception wanted to do everything they could to help was great. 3 nights is perfect here but you could stay longer and explore la Fortuna as there’s loads of bars and restaurants around.

It’s is a spread out resort so we had requested pick up from golf cart they were there within minutes would highly recommend.

This Resort boasts one of the most beautiful settings in Costa Rica. We were treated to terrific views of the Arenal volcano every day. Stayed in a double suite at the bottom of the property, the furthest unit from the main lodge, but only a five min. walk and there were golf cart shuttles available if wanted or needed. Parents shared the master, and the boys (18 & 27) had the adjoining room with 2 double beds. Spent 4 nights here in mid-April then 3 nights at the west coast. We met at least 3 other families with similar itineraries. We busied ourselves during the days with tours booked by the resort. Day one: Hanging Bridges and Waterfall. Day two: Whitewater Rafting. Day three: Canyoning for the men, spa for mom. Excursion Notes: Hanging Bridges is a must and is doable even by people who are afraid of heights. The Waterfall is literally 500 steps down and 500 steps up. It's a workout, but the water is cool and refreshing. Bring water shoes, the rocks are slippery. There is a second pool not in the photos that is calmer, and you don't have to climb over boulders to get into the water. The rafting was good but would have been better if there was more water. April is the end of the dry season, and we got briefly hung up on rocks a few times. Canyoning was awesome! The hike out (up) after the 60-meter rappel was strenuous. The spa was thoroughly enjoyed. Needless to say, we had lunch out every day. Breakfast is a well-supplied buffet including made to order eggs or omelets, paninis, and all manner of breakfast choices. A+, Dinners were good, not spectacular, B+. Our rooms were spacious. but lacked appropriate storage. Plenty of closet space, but no drawers. The beds were hard. pillows were good. Our bathroom was enormous, but it lacked a vent. Even though there was a sign in the bathroom to put dirty towels on the floor, the maids took the towels on the hooks and washed them too. Practice what you preach and save some water. Speaking of water ... the resorts thermal pools and swim up bar were just what we were looking for and did not disappoint. The pools vary in temperature and there is a cool freshwater pool as well. The staff was very friendly and eager to help.

I am a senior citizen with mobility issues,(I use a fold up walker) traveling with my fit and athletic 50 something daughter. Although the resort is hilly in places, the available golf cart and their employee Joel allowed me access to anywhere I wanted to go. That included the hot pool and springs.Every member of the staff awarded me smiles and a helping hand and I was totally comfortable being "different." We found the best food at the Sushi Bar although the morning Breakfast Buffet was bountiful in its offerings and delicious. My daughter needed to be totally gluten free and accommodation was made with no problem. Also for her, the 6:30 am Yoga Class was a favorite. The housekeeping staff was professional and we enjoyed the towel animals. Arenal Volcano was cloudless, the chirping of the birds constant, the lizards polite. We highly recommend Arenal Springs Resort

We had a second story superior room at the back of the resort. View of Arenal Volcano from the patio is great. I think every room here has a great volcano view. There is couple of hot pools with piped in water from the hot springs. Great relaxing area around the pools with swim up bars. The swim up bars offered light snacks (which were very good) as well as drinks but the pools weren’t that much cooler than the hot pools. Difficult to cool off. Two restaurants, one Costa Rican one Italian. Both good but not memorable except my cucumber martini. You are a long ways from La Fortuna and the cab ride was expensive. In all fairness I can’t downgrade the rating, the room and grounds were nice, but it all felt a bit pretentious to us. There were many families here and kids were loving the pools so you might find it a good family trip

Excellent hotel in so many respects. The hotel is very well maintained. The setting is beautiful. The grounds are awesome with so a very nice pool area that splits between thermal springs and normal pools. Food is very good. Service is generally very good, quick to respond, and absolutely looking to please. They did a couple of very nice things in recognition of our anniversary. We would absolutely return to this hotel and recommend it, but be cognizant of the items below. They can be deal breakers if not addressed. Now for the challenging areas: Families with children: - The swings were missing from the swing set. - There is nobody (life guard) watching at the pool area despite there being really nothing else for the kids to do there. - There are no planned activities for kids. - The play area is very small. Rooms - connecting rooms have paper thin walls. If you have a door connecting your room with another, they are likely going to feel like you have people in your room when they speak. When we were upgraded, this problem went away but part of the time in the other room was very loud. The television i our first room didn’t play cable tv. This was likely an easy fix. We just didn’t call about it. We just used streaming and this worked fine. There are service gaps that need to be addressed, some of which were large concerns. Child safety isn’t something that appears to be highly regarded. While my wife was having a massage, they drove my 5 year old son back to the room without any authorization nor notification. He was being “watched” outside of the room since they wouldn’t allow him to stay in the massage room.

We were expecting a nicer hotel with more places to eat. We thought it was all-inclusive than it was. They only included breakfast and lunch (disappointed with the food). No drinks were included at all. Refrigerator in your room but nothing in it, not even water. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, but not many staff on hand. If you ordered a drink at the bar at the pool, it could take 20 minutes or more with no line. Biggest disappointment for us is that we did not realize how many hills are on the premises. It was very hard to get around, you are going down steep areas or up, too much work! They do have fantastic views of the volcano and many areas to swim in the mineral springs. These are probably the biggest pluses!

Stunning views! The staff was among the friendliest we have experienced-any question we had was answered and any need we had was met. The beautiful volcano made an appearance everyday-a stunning view to wake up to. The rooms were huge, very high ceilings and a beautiful balcony. The tubing and springs were very fun and relaxing. We saw a sloth while we were there as well! Can’t wait to return!

We had a great time here. It's very clean and well organized. Alex at reservations worked with us when we had a change. I attended yoga one morning and enjoyed the mellow vibe. Everyone was super friendly. We ate at all the restaurants and enjoyed all of them. Breakfast was good and included. Location is good. Really loved our stay.
