This hotel has such a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere. The grounds are so tropical with secluded hot springs, a farm, a bar and restaurant. The rooms are spacious, private, and have a mini fridge. Perfect place to stay while visiting Arenal.

Hotel's Favourite
We spent 5 nights here and didn't want to leave. We had a family bungalow with 2 queen beds and a twin bed. There was plenty of room even with 3 beds. The bathroom was huge. Lovely little front patio with table and chairs. The restaurant is fairly small so we were asked to reserve a breakfast time, but I think they were pretty flexible about that, and just didn't want everyone showing up at the same time. Breakfast was really good, ordered from a menu. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and were happily surprised at just how good their pizza was. Staff was all really friendly. The grounds are really nice, with paved paths throughout, and to the back of the property where the hot springs pools are. I think there are 6 or 7, gorgeous little pools, and one big one, all surrounded by big rocks and lush vegetation. The hot springs pools are way nicer than I expected. It was so nice to wander back there in the evening and lounge in the pools. It was quiet, and never more than a few other people around. The bungalows are nice on their own, but the hot springs pools earn it extra points. Off to the side at the back of the property is a little farm, and guests are welcome to wander around and visit the animals. That was a lot more fun than I expected. :) They have all kinds of birds, donkeys, sheep, miniature horses, etc. While we were staying there we often saw a peccary on the hotel grounds. I thought it was a pig from the farm at first. :) Also saw some iguanas lounging in the trees. Would definitely stay there again.

Response from Luis Diego Zúñiga Vega, Owner at Hotel El Silencio Del Campo
Responded 30 Jan 2023
Dear valued guest, We cannot thank you enough for giving us such a warm and lovely review based on your recent stay at our hotel. We really appreciate it. We are very happy that the Family Villa was comfortable enough for everybody and that the room accomodations were of your liking. Thank you so much for being so patient and understanding about the breakfast reservation suggestions we want to make sure every guest has a table to enjoy breakfast before joining any scheduled expedition to explore the area of La Fortuna. We are glad you had more fun than expected at our farm, the onsite hot springs and that little peccary, Bella, is part of our little family. Thank you again for being part of El Silencio del Campo family during your stay. It was truly our pleasure to have you.

Oh my goodness, my husband and I had a wonderful 2 nights and wished our schedule would have allowed for at least 3-4 nights or more. The staff, service, landscaped grounds, thermal hot springs, etc. were perfect. We stayed in the romantic villa which was also great with all that you need. This was not “glitzy” resort that you could find anywhere but instead a genuine, beautifully landscaped authentic experience. The thermal springs we even had to ourselves the first night. The room was clean, comfortable, wifi was great (had to check for few work items) and only complaint was that the water in our room’s shower was cold one morning but sure that is being fixed. Everything was so great that we didn’t mention it. The food was farm to table at the restaurant and tasted so fresh! And we got to go into the farm/gardens in the back one morning and meet (Alejandro(?)) the head gardener. He took the time to show us all around the garden which was wonderful. We also had the couples champagne massage with facials, truly amazing and would recommend booking ahead. We loved everything about here and would love to bring our entire family back. Thank you!

This place was perfect! There are beautiful flowers and birds everywhere. It is self-sustaining so there also is a Garden and farm animals. They have their own hot springs which are awesome as well as a pool. Each villa has its own view of the amazing Arenal Volcano. The spa was a very relaxing experience. But best of all are the staff. They could not be any more accompandating and friendly. I will be back!

Such a beautiful place to stay just outside of La Fortuna! Our cabin was really comfortable and the grounds were stunning! Loved the hot springs and how they had different temperature pools to choose from in lush tropical gardens. The farm was also a great place to visit. Sweet animals and got to try and milk a cow. Food was excellent. Staff were amazing and so kind. Always willing to help and go the extra mile. Highly recommend staying here!

This place is simply wonderful. The location, grounds, gardens, spring pools are all beautiful and made for a truly peaceful getaway. The food in the restaurant was delicious with a different menu each evening ( we stayed 4 nights ) we never went off site except to do some activities which were easily arranged by the hotel. Fabulous stay, thanks so much to you all.

The best value for money. Great room with coffe making stuff, minibar, bathrobe. Comfortable bed and great shower. Very beautiful grounds. Hot springs, pools and pool bar with food and drinks available until 9.30 pm. Recommended sloth territory close by. Hotel itself just amazing, a lot of privacy and exceeded our expectations 100% and more :) Highly recommended

Truly a highlight of our first trip to Costa Rica! Comfortable, individual bungalows and numerous hot pools to choose from. It was quiet and peaceful with the exception of the peacock calling out to all. We loved it! We milked a cow and gathered eggs for the restaurant (which was delicious). Leo at the front desk was especially helpful when we had to reschedule some tours. He was friendly and made us feel so welcome. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed a personal tour of the spacious gardens where the caretaker expressed his enthusiasm for his many vegetables and herbs. We would recommend this highly for anyone looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience.
