When we enter the room in Rio Danta, it smells mustiness. It's because of the climate and high humidity, but they should air it once we make a reservation. Anyway, the room is big with a double bed and a bunk bed where we can keep our stuff. There is air conditioning, too. There is an ex-kitchen annexe with an old tv set. Towels and soap are provided. The bathroom is quite big and clean. The internet is quite good. We pay 21$/night and we stay two nights. They serve breakfast, too - toast, scrambled eggs, rice with black beans and coffee.
The flowing creek beside our room was so peaceful and tranquil to listen to. Our hosts were super friendly and helpful and accomodated all of our needs, and were super flexible with our checkout time. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with 2 double beds-so easily accommodated myself, my husband, and our 2 children. The room had a bar fridge, microwave, TV, shower and toilet. A lovely typical breakfast was included, with amazing Costa Rican coffee. There was a squirrel, humming bird, strawberry poison dart frog, and many birds right on the property. Would definitely come back. Thank you Hotel Rio Danta💖. Love love love Pura vida
This is a place for people that want to save and do some cooking themselves. The rooms are very clean. The staff, a family-owned hotel, was super sweet and accommodating. it is in a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was included although not sure if that was because we were part of a group that took over the entire hotel or if they offered it all the time.
We stayed here with a school group. We were very please with the price and Adrian was terrific. He went out of his way to help us and his wife was so kind. The property is in need of some upgrades but they are working on it and I can’t wait to return again.
If I could give this hostel a 0star I would... Awful service. We asked for several things and never got the service for them. In room16 nothing works properly, the shower was not clean and there are 2 holes in the wall. We disliked it so much we asked for one night refund and the man who only speaks spanish was frustrated at us and slammed our refund on the desk. We've been in Costa rica for several weeks and stayed at several other hostels and hotels and this was by far the worse stay we had here.
