Excellent hotel for our family. Two nice pools on-site. Room was clean and had everything we needed. On-site restaurant was good with choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only small complaint was runny scrambled eggs for breakfast. Hotel is a good central location for activities around Arenal.
My sister almost cried out of sheer joy for the beauty of our surroundings. Our View from our two Queen room was the volcano Arenal. Breathtakingly stunning! We could not have asked for more. Impeccable service by all the staff. Our requests were always immediately met. I just cannot speak highly enough about how well we were treated there. The pools were great, the massages next to the babbling brook were heavenly. The only thing that wasn't up to par with the rest of this outstanding hotel was the food. I wanted to get into the kitchen and give a few cooking lessons: oil needs to be really hot so fried foods don't soak it up. French toast should not be soggy. And if you have to drain the oil off food cooked on the grill plate then you have too much oil. Really, there was just too much oil and butter being used in general. I know that many people aren't quite as picky about their food, and some of it was okay but nothing was a real stand-out for my sister and myself. So unfortunate. Still I would highly recommend the Hotel Arenal Manoa. It was by far our TOP FAVORITE place to stay. And despite the food, I would definitely stay there again.…
This hotel's views can't be beat. The restaurant and our room's patio had a very close up view to the Arenal volcano. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The rooms are spread-out on the property, building by building and our building had two rooms. It's built on a hill so using the shuttle service was nice (and they come really fast if you call them). The property is well maintained and there is tons of wildlife on the premises. The pools fed by the thermal hot springs water is well worth the stay here. I really enjoyed the experience of being able to bathe in hot spring water in a pool setting with swim-up bar. Two things I didn't love about this hotel: the food and the beds. The food was mediocre and I was expecting more for resort with so many other great features. If you stay here, I recommend that you eat in town. The beds were stiff and not very comfortable.…
My family and I enjoyed the lovely grounds. The service and housekeeping were great. We enjoyed the hot pools. The gentleman who assisted with wildlife viewing at breakfast was super! We also enjoyed spa treatments. Bird watching galore!
Stayed at the Arenal Manoa for a few days earlier in June. Our room had a porch which had a clear, unobstructed view of the Arenal volcano (to be fair, I think most if not all the rooms face the volcano). What a great way to wake up. The room itself was good sized and the bathroom in particular was larger than average with a skylight and mini garden inside. AC was strong. The bed we had was a little weird, I don't know how to describe the mattress, just weird and creaky. Kids' bed was fine. Breakfast was included in our rate and was good, with slightly different choices day to day so that it wasn't same-same-same over our 3 days. As with most of the places we ran into in CR, a good portion of the dining area was open-air, although covered, so not quite mosquito-proof but we didn't encounter too many here regardless. Friendly service with everyone we encountered. We did not get to check out the pools or the spring onsite much to our regret. All in all no big concerns. Good value and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.…
Beautiful resort. Large modern rooms. Our beds faced the volcano which was a perk. Grounds are lovely. Hot spring water pumped in pool and also a separate regular pool. A little far from town of La Fortuna. Not waking distance but the restaurant is excellent with many traditional food options.
I booked to stay with my three children and my mum. I requested two rooms next to each other and if possible a volcano view as we would go to celebrate my youngest daughter's first birthday. Well we were blown away! I really appreciated the customer service manager at the front desk attending to everyone's needs before they check in. But the real thing that really left me in amazement was what we found when we entered the room! There was a cot set up for my daughter with a helium balloon next to it, an elephant made out o towels, a wrapped present a card AND a cupcake with a candle! OMG! It's true that Costa Ricans love children and babies, but this was so unexpected that I cried! We had the most wonderful time celebrating as a family. The rooms were spotless and were joining with a volcano view. I want to thanks the staff for really helping us have such a great time. Thanks for the love for my baby also. Please tell the staff member who did this - YOU ARE AMAZING! Thanks! PURA VIDA…
We loved everything about this hotel! The grounds are gorgeous and lush. Our room was very nice with a spectacular view of the volcano. The pools are beautiful. We just wish that the temperature of the thermal pools was a bit warmer. The layout of the property is large, so to get back and forth between our room and the reception area (the place for pick-up and drop off of tours, taxis, etc.), the front desk offers transportation upon request at no charge. The resort is a 10-minute drive from La Fortuna. We did not rent a car, so it would have been helpful if the hotel offered a shuttle into town. The breakfast buffet (included in our rate) was wonderful and included fresh fruit, yogurts, fresh juices, gallo pinto, omelets made to order, pastries, and more, in a setting overlooking the volcano, trees, and river. There was a naturalist present each morning in the restaurant with a telescope. He focused it on a crocodile one morning, birds the next, and was happy to share his findings and knowledge with anyone interested. We would like to acknowledge one person in particular, a concierge named Rebecca who made a point to always come outside from the reception area to greet us and ask how we were doing, how we enjoyed our activities, etc. The staff in general was so friendly and helpful. We would definitely return to this hotel.…
We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are very good, with excellent air-conditioning, good bathrooms, and views of the volcano from the porches. Staff are excellent. The grounds are stunning - beautifully planted with tropical plants, and a wonderful lake in the centre which attracts lots of wildlife. We loved the restaurant for its amazing views out over the lake and towards the volcano - absolutely stunning. The food was a bit hit and miss. At breakfast, some items were poor quality, yet some things were really good. Similarly, the lunch/dinner menus. We can highly recommend the pizzas, though - best we've had outside Italy! Just one thing: the wifi was terrible. In the room it was unbelievably slow, and kept dropping out every few minutes and needing to be reconnected - it was almost unusable. I don't think it was because of the location of our room, as we were close to reception. It was much better in the restaurant (different connection). We did the early morning bird watching tour around the grounds, with a brilliant guide who could spot and tell us about the forty or so different birds we saw. He carried a scope so that we could see everything in detail. Book through reception - highly recommended…
What an amazing & memorable experience we had. The views were stunning, service was outstanding a special thank you to Daniella in reservation, Esteban & Hilda at the Bar. We arrived and were greeted by an amazing and welcoming staff. The driver gave a us a tour of the resort before arriving to our room. The restaurant onsite La Saca is outstanding! Breakfast is included and did not disappoint. The provided fresh homemade bread, freshly made cheese, fruits and veggies from their garden, omelet station and variety of meats. Lunch and dinner were also outstanding! All food was nicely plated and tasted delicious. Daniella who assisted with our reservation did an outstanding job and helped us reserve all of our tours. All the tours we purchased from the resort were outstanding! We went Whitewater Rafting, Ziplining, ATV riding, and Rainforest Nigh Walk. All of them were exceptional! Thank you Daniella. Especial thank you also to Karen who was always attentive at the front desk and helping us get transportation. Our room view was breathtaking! I could not believe our view for the week how stunning and right from our bed!. It was so nice to have coffee outside facing the volcano. Alfredo at the restaurant was so friendly and knowledgably of the animals around. Daily he would let us look around with his telescope and binoculars and talk about the surrounding animals. He was also our tour guide for the rainforest night walk. All transportation personnel were professional and helpful in getting guest to their destinations. The rooms are all well equipped including a fridge, water, Tv, AC and large bathroom with shower. The rooms also have umbrellas for the rain showers. The spa was also a must do, they have a spa that really helps you relax and disconnect. The staff members are professional and outstanding. Book in advance! The pizza by the pool is outstanding!! Great to order when hanging out with the family by the pool. The veggie one is awesome! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are already working with them to book 2023.…
