Hotel staff were excellent. We had a problem with a trip they called the tour company for us and sorted it out, no problem.
The hotel was more than we could have expected and a great value. The food is great, the presentation is fabulous and the portions are generous. The hot tub pools are very nice and relaxing. The staff are all so helpful and kind. The rooms...More
The hotel is a couple of miles outside of the town of La Fortuna so in that respect is nice and quiet. The room we had was spacious, spotlessly clean and cleaned every day to high spec.

The first part of the road from Casa Luna Hotel, La Fortuna, Costa Rica to Montverde, Costa Rica is in fairly good condition up to the city called Tilaran which is about halfway in terms of time between Fortuna and Montverde. After Tilaran the road is drivable but very rocky and bad and one could only drive about 25-30 miles per hour. If you are renting a car, get an SUV with a high clearance. There are signs that if followed would take you to Montverde. But one has to pay close attention to these signs because it's not exactly like the markings in the United States. Again like I said earlier, it's drivable but very bad. I am going back again in April of this year. I enjoyed it so much last year and I am sure you will too.
