The hotel helped us arrange for a driver. He took us everywhere. It was $200 a day and $60 on the day that we just needed a ride to the airport. He had a small bus so 6+ folks could easily travel together with luggage and split the cost. He was very knowledgeable so we received historical and ecological information throughout the whole trip. He knew where to stop at places that were clean, safe, interesting. He drove us all the way to the coast to Yaba Chigui Lodge on the Osa Peninsula so we experienced the best of both- mountains at Grandpas and beach/jungle at Yaba Chiqui in places that were smaller, hospital and beautiful and totally Costa Rican. The hotel referral for driver is highly recommended. He actually was a friend of the family. We were totally comfortable having him be with us. He even took lots of pictures of us and shared them without us asking him to.
