We travel a great deal internationally and especially for top notch birding opportunities. This is one of the best. My wife had been here for a day visit 20 years ago and loved it even more on this trip. Our guide, Harry Barnard, not only had a a fantastic range of knowledge about the birds in the area but also...

The food was delicious, in-house guides funny and friendly, and loved their philosophy of creating a family environment. It was the perfect place for to unplug. No TV's in the building, no telephone (except for in the office), and only wifi downstairs in the main area. We all ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner together at communal tables and really got...

I would like to express my appreciation for the quality of service and delicious gourmet food offered at Rancho Naturalista. I honestly cannot express how grateful of your hospitality. We would never have so much fun photographing hummingbirds in your garden without Mario and Harry's assistance. Thank you Mario for driving us to Lisa's parent garden to watch Snowcap, Green...

Some rooms have open balconies. If birding, you may hear early risers settling down in chairs, with coffee, outside your room. Curtains keep it private. Time to wake up as they are all looking for that special bird (groan) that you want too! Food, service, rooms, and viewing opportunities are great. Don't miss this special place and opportunity.

Their staff is excellent, and the food provided at Rancho is delicious and birding is superb! Their local guides are true professional birders. I would definitely recommend anyone whether an...

I had a fantastic stay at Rancho Naturalista. Lisa and her staff were very friendly and accommodating. I visited in the green season and it was nice to feel like I had the place largely to myself. I stayed in the “Cotinga” room which was pretty and spacious, with french doors that opened right onto the balcony. It was wonderful...

I had the most fantastic stay here, and can't recommend this place highly enough! The welcome here is warm and genuine - Lisa, Mario and the staff were very friendly and made me feel at home from the start. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and I was thoroughly spoilt! The food is also excellent - fresh and prepared...

Good quality birdwatching in rainy season, supposingly also in dry season. Snowcaps, Green Thorntails, B-C Cocette, many other hummers, diverse Tanager flocks, Sunbitterns and other interesting birds at Rancho or near by. Rainy season does not stop bird activity, actually it is quite relaxing to go out in the sunny morning for birding, come back for lunch and then maybe...
