For our last night in Costa Rica we were booked into The Volcan Turrialba Lodge. Driving from the town in the valley up to the lodge on a tortuous unpaved road took about 40 minutes. Arrving there, we discovered a barbed wire fence across the driveway. There was a cloth thrown across the hotel sign. We assumed there must be... More

I visited this place with my husband for his bday. The view is absolutely beautiful and there is a small farm that will catch your eye for sure. However, the road is 4x4 only, there aren't any restaurant, convenience stores or supermarkets near the place. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it is expensive for what they served... More

The location and beauty of the volcano scenery is unique. This hotel is quiet, great to relax and has the best view of the volcano. But the food options are few and not good. Lunch or dinner options are the same that you would find in any rural small restaurant, but they charge you as if you were eating gourmet... More

I stopped at the lodge on my way to look at the volcano for a coffee & a few pieces of cheese. Prices were not listed on the menu so I expected to pay $2 - $3. I was shocked to get a bill for $14.5! I will say however that the local staff were very friendly and the view... More

I am SO glad that I found this lodge. It is definitely in the "Road Less Traveled" category. Even my Driver who is a Tico tour guide had never been to this area. He plans to return for a "second honeymoon". Tony, the Owner was patient in giving directions beforehand. I was finishing some business in the city and since... More

This is a beautiful lodge. Simply having the volcano in your garden is a luxury. Fausto's attention and the farmhands that make the home cooked meals make your stay even more authentic. The bungalows are simple but have all the basic needs and are very clean. They also have a kitchenette. At night it gets very cold so be prepared... More

Spend a night in Volcan Turrialba Lodge , i can tell you that if you are looking for something in nowhere.. thats the place, i loved the idea of its remote location and that you are pretty close to the volcano... I have been in Arenal and it has its own charm, but Volcan Turrialba is more wild, and pretty... More

I've visited this place twice, on both occasions it has been just a day trip and we have done horseback riding on the volcano, which I would recommend to anyone that's looking for extreme adventure, and a wonderful experience! The first time we did not stay for lunch, but the second time we did, what a mistake! There were 6... More

My husband and I spent two nights here. The view of Volcan Turrialba is fabulous and the entire area is scenic. The lodge was comfortable, the people very friendly and helpful although most didn't speak much English, and we really enjoyed the farm. The lodging is a little "cabin" which is somewhat rustic. It has a little wood stove in... More

After looking at the web site and corresponding with someone from the property, we decided to give this lodge a shot. The road to this place actually takes you by the park entrance to the volcano and after a short distance, it brings you to the lodge. The road up the mountain is horrible but the views are amazing so... More
