I had the luck of the other named hotels being busy I arrived at cuidad Blanca and found a fantastic welcome.mainly locals but Arnoldo the owner was playing some cool tunes.the food was very affordable and very good.all very friendly he even took me to local waterfalls.I highly recommend cuidad Blanca drop in and say hello .

First of all, the owners are the sweetest people ever. They don't speak a word of English and my Spanish is very basic, but we charaded our way through several conversations. The rooms.. Well.. We read in the lonely planet that this was one of the best mid-range options in Liberia, I can hardly imagine. Our room was small, the fan was broken, huge cockroaches running around, the beds weren't clean and full of other people's hair, we ended up changing the sheets ourselves. We stayed at Ciudad Blanca for one night in January 2012. Room was pretty big, nice, and clean. Restaurant was pretty good. Staff helpfulness and friendliness was average to good. Price is pretty good for one or two nights.

I think this hotel is now called La Siesta. It's clean and perfectly functional. Rough Guide Cosa Rica describes it as having cold showers and they are! We came to Liberia, just to say we'd been here and to be honest; it's not worth it. There is very little to see even if one loves colonial architecture, you would see... More

We stayed only 1 night in this hotel as we read about the "colonial" styled town of Liberia. Firstly, there is only 1 street that is actually worth seeing. So you're done in half an hour and an overnight stay is not really necessary. This hotel isn't very impressive either. The staff (a 60 year old, a worker with moustache... More

We only spent one night here and that was enough. Whilst the room was pleasant enough, the louvred windows weren't enough to block out the sounds of the yard which the hotel rooms overlook. This neighbouring yard contains dogs, chickens (yes, roosters) and geese. These constantly bray and bark all night so that the chance of getting a good night's... More
