This hotel could be great, but like many humans it finds a way to keep shooting itself in the foot. Apparently the owner is trying to sell the hotel and therefore she is stinting on maintenance and also quite possibly on paychecks. Our unit had the private pool but it took us three days to get the staff to have... More

We booked one of their suites and were looking forward to a relaxing, quiet vacation. While we were there, no one was allowed in any of the suites. We were given a bed in a box room with a lovely view of the pool and deck in the suite below that we had paid for. If they had just told... More

We have just returned from Giardini de Papagayo. Overall it is dirty, needs a lot of maintenance. The food is monotonous. The shuttle service to and from your room (the resort if built on a hillside) is not always reliable. My husband is a semi invalid and we were told that there would not be a problem with getting him... More

Spent a relaxing two weeks at the Giardini in January. My travel agent had prepared me for a quiet place with no on-site activities and this is exactly what I got. I took a couple of tours which I really enjoyed -the Congo Canopy Tour and the Coribici rafting tour. I also took the shopping tour to Liberia (where I... More

We are both in our early 30s and have travelled to the Mayan Riviera, Cancun, Puerta Plata, Punta Cana and Cuba. We have been staying at 3- 5 stars resorts and have no real expectations when we travel. Booked deal with www.selloffvacations.com and landed in Liberia's airport. Fast through the lines and easy to find our transfer sign/ ride. About... More

Having just returned from a week at this 'resort', and having been to Costa Rica 11 yrs. earlier (for a month, via public transport), I have to say that if this were my first exposure to CR, I would NOT return. I have read other reviews and can only say that those with positive experiences and no problems must have... More

For us personally this resort was perfect - not touristy at all, great excursions that are well organized by professional guides, healthy food, clean rooms. If you are interested in night life while you are on vacation you will not like this resort since everything closes at 10pm. This was not an issue for us because we wanted to do... More

When we first arrived, they said they were overbooked (though we were confirmed months in advance for a suite) and they were sending us to their partner resort nearby. We had not heard of this place, so we refused to go. The manager came out to the desk and immediately offered us a superior room (with a beautiful view) until... More

The hotel was not at all as shown in the brochure. There were no activities, the bar and the shuttle service closed up at 10pm, not 11pm as advertised. The water in the small pool looked cloudy. The food was luke warm, monotonous, but plentiful. Should you ask for an item not on the table, you got a positive reply,... More

We went to Costa Rica and stayed here for 2 weeks. We had a great time! The beach was great and the snokelling was pretty good at high tide. In fact you could have a piece of beach with no one around if you really wanted to! The staff was helpful and friendly and always had time to chat and... More
