Rancho Armadillo is one of those hidden little getaways that is just lovely, relaxing and fun. It's 1 about mile from Coco Beach, which has the curse of lots of tourists and the blessing of lots of restaurants and the best gelato ever. Seriously. But how would we find that Gelato were it not for Rick, the owner of Rancho...

I can't say enough good things about Rick and his Rancho Armadillo Estate. My girlfriend and I went on a 9 day tour of Costa Rica and stayed at Rancho for two days. He helped us with our trip weeks before we left, days before we stayed, and during our stay. Rick genuinely loves sharing information about Coco and the...

My family of 5- me, my wife and daughters- 11 months, 5 years, and 8 years, just got back from a 6 night stay at Rancho Armadillo under the care of the great Rick Vogel. I can't even begin to describe the awesome time we had at the ranch! Rick thinks of everything, is the most hospitable and friendly individual,...

My family of 5 completed an eight night stay at Rancho Armadillo and it was outstanding! Rick, the owner worked with us by email for a year and helped plan our itinerary. We contacted him a year in advance and he answered each email promptly and helped us plan our rental car, excursions to white water rafting, river floats, trips...

Rick was a great host and had lots of suggestions for us - he was happy to organise things and help us plan our trip! The location is great - a 20 minute drive from Liberia Airport and the pool/hang out area was great to lounge about in our free time! Loved staying here!

Visiting Rancho Armadillo was a once in a lifetime experience. My husband had been corresponding with the owner, Rick for several months as Rick had many suggestions from our room picks at his estate to the many attractions that we would be most interested in visiting. He guided us with the best car rentals, restaurants, day trips and local trips...

My husband and I returned to Rancho Armadillo in April - this time with our three kids. It was as wonderful as the first time three years ago. Rick genuinely cares and is interested in you enjoying your holiday. He is a fabulous host - willing to help with anything. He goes above and beyond. I would only stay here...

Just to be clear, the detail that makes Rancho Armadillo Estate perfecto is the proprietor, Rick. The hotel is beautiful, with many special details, but Rick makes all of those details come together. He makes his guests feel more like a welcome guest coming for a visit, rather than a customer. The estate is divided into guest room areas and...

We stayed at Rancho Armadillo in late November 2015 and again a few weeks later in December. We have previously traveled throughout Costa Rica, and it is our favorite destination from all of our travels throughout the world. We have never found an owner or employee who was more accommodating and helpful in all of our travels. We are in...

We spent a week at Rancho Armadillo. The owner, Rick, made it a special and comfortable time. It is hard to say enough about his interest and desire to make you comfortable on the estate and have the best time possible in Costa Rica. We loved the open area for dining and socializing. It is small so everyone has a...
