My husband and I have been going here for 5 years and love it. Karla, Esteban, Julio and Sol are truly amazing! Tico breakfast every morning, FABULOUS! Pool is simple and refreshing. A/C and the blackout curtains ROCK! Love it and will continue coming back every year! Casino is still not open but we anticipate it reopening once the marina is complete.

This place was absolutely horrible. We checked in and checked out within the hour. The room was bare. Nothing but a bed, dresser and night tables. The balcony had those cheap plastic chairs. I first tried to change rooms but every room was basically the same. The place is worn out and shabby, paint peeling, anti-slip strips at the pool were peeling, the gazebo was falling apart, A/C only in the rooms and calling it A/C was being kind. Wi-Fi with one bar in the rooms.I could go on..the only bright spots in this tedious and stressing situation were Luis at the front desk and Maria who, I assumed, was in housekeeping. They tried hard to make us happy, but there was no way I could allow this place to ruin another amazing trip to Costa Rica. We moved .3 miles to Margaritaville where we are now. I’ve never done this before. Never had to, but so happy we left the place. If they want to attract international travelers, they need to give this place a serious facelift.

Wasn’t really Flamingo beach for a start you wouldn’t want to walk as far as that! The room they gave us was in the Dungeon ! definite lack of furniture in the room and none on the balcony if you wanted to sit there !! We drove down the slope which was like a rollercoaster ride as so steep ! Next morning when we went for breakfast - I only had coffee - it’s could be really lovely as stunning view from there ! And pool area looked ok - a few places to sit and enjoy the view !! But they need a few key members of staff who know what they are doing ! Someone obviously local came to complain about the rubbish at the end of the drive although he should have asked to talk to a manager the receptionist just didn’t smushed him ! Probably the worst place we stayed in Costa Rica !!! Although we had stayed in the famous resort on flamingo beach the previous week for a few extra dollars I wish we had gone back

First of all, the area is very good. It's not tamarindo, it's not super crowded, it's not that touristy(at this hotel at least.). It's cheap, and while the pool isn't that fancy, and the chairs are a little decrepit, you can walk to a private beach, the rooms are solid, the breakfast is good and the staff are lovely. All excursion companies will come pick you up from this hotel, if you're doing it that way. There's something for everyone in costa rica and this is a great affordable option for someone who wants a touch of resort feel without all the corny guests. ALSO, incredible view. Shout out Salma, Duban,m Julio and every awesome person there. Only problems - try to avoid staying underneath where they serve breakfast they set up in the morning and it's loud very early.

This hotel is located in a beautiful bay. Everything else is bad - bad service, rooms not clean, terrible breakfast and the worst of all - we didn't have running water in the shower and bathroom. We booked 3 nights, left after the first. The only negative hotel experience we had in two weeks in Costa Rica.

The Hotel has a great location in Flamingo, with 180 degrees views, from the rooms, from the pool, the restaurant, everywhere. The property went under a re construction and "facelift" recently. And it looks really good! Very friendly staff, at the restaurant, front desk, everybody. Totally recommended! I'm looking forward to go back!

The hotel is simply confusing; it should be much nicer then it is. It seems run down, not cared for and neglected. It has so much potential if the management/owner invested in it. Staff are not friendly or outgoing. Morning breakfast is not good, items are kept in rubber maid containers. Our last day we showed up for breakfast and we were told there was none. Wires are exposed in the hallways. The hill the the beach is big but walkable. There is not much to do in the area. I would not stay at this hotel and have no idea how it ranks so high on this website. Stay at an alternate hotel for the same price. The view from the hotel is the best aspect of it.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Parts of the hotel were very nice and luxurious, but other parts were quite run down. The front desk staff were not very personable or friendly, but the bartender was very professional. The pool was rather dirty and unkempt, as were multiple other parts of the hotel. The pillows felt like they were filled with cotton balls, and there was constant noise in the hallways and coming from upstairs. Overall I did not feel like the experience was worth as much as we paid for the room, a bit disappointing :(

Great hotel. Place is under construction but what is done is fabulous. Breakfast is sufficient but the view from dinning area makes breakfast fabulous. We could not get enough of the view. Short walk to several beach’s but walk back is a killer straight up steep hill wearers u out for sure. The need a service to pick people up from beach Staff couldn’t be nicer and helpful They called our cab and said if you needed cab back they could also help. Arranged excursions. Beautiful beach down property steps secluded nice sand but approximately 80 stairs back up. We spent several days on beach chairs enjoying view Cocktails very good inexpensive and great pours. Rooms updated clean Hotel has 4 stories no elevator. Several places for drinks and diner very close down steep hill. I hate writing a good review because it could raise price or make it harder to get our room next time which there will be a next time for sure. Like I said before staff couldn’t be nicer and the view will keep U coming back. Swim up bar also

I woke up during night time needed some water and no one was able to help us out.. Poor management, there is not much to do in the area, the staff at restaurant is really nice thow. The room was not ready first, then different prices came out .. Overall I would try a lower price point because this did not meet the expectations
