My friends and I stayed at the Hotel Bula Bula for a week to celebrate my 40th birthday and I wish we could have stayed longer. Playa Grande is the perfect location as it is close to Tamarindo, but still retains the peace and quiet that we wanted for our beach vacation. There are no hotels right on Playa Grande... More

I would highly recommend the Hotel Bula Bula to anyone traveling to this region of Costa Rica. It is by far the nicest hotel in Playa Grande as far as the rooms, pool and bar are concerned. Breakfast is included and was excellent. The staff was very friendly and fun. Our room was very clean. And the rockers outside the... More

This place was like the icing on the cake. My girlfriend and I booked a week stay at this fabulous hotel. It only helped compliment the amazing Playa Grande area. From the delicious food (catering to special dietary restrictions), cozy rooms and the best landscaped garden to enjoy your poolside cocktails. This place couldn't be any better, but it was... More

The rooms were tiny, with lighting that made it impossible to read at night. and air conditioner was very noisy. The dramatic photos shown on the Internet of the rooms must have been done with a very wide angle lens and lots of extra lighting. The hotel is also located at least a 25min drive from Tamarindo, and whilst you... More

I had the opportunity to converse with this client several times during his stay with us. He told me that his group was having a “wonderful time and a wonderful vacation.” His opinion changed when he learned that we would enforce the cancellation policy during the peak season holiday period. The client notified us that he would need to return... More

We loved our stay at Bula Bula, the staff and owners are so nice and made us feel so welcome! We stayed for Christmas and the place had a really nice Christmassy feel, we could have not picked a better place to stay! The rooms are really colourful and lovely and clean (bug free as well!) The pool is great!... More

This was our first stop on the Nicoya Peninsula and we were both really excited about heading to the coast, catching some sun and exploring some more of Costa Rica. When we arrived at Hotel Bula Bula, it was a different story. It was clear that the managers really couldn't care less about the guests and that everything revolved around... More

Hotel Bula Bula is a gem. I could have stayed here for days floating on my back in the lovely tiled pool gazing at the beautiful landscaping, the azure blue sky and the passing white clouds. The AC room was spotless and cheerfully colorful with a terrific mattress, comfy pillows and thick towels. A fantastic breakfast was included in my... More

Felix and the crew took care of everything. Food was excellent. Walking distance to beach and store. Rooms were comfortable. Short boat ride to Tamarindo. Stay here if you are looking for the perfect little remote hideaway. Very laid back atmosphere. No crowds during our stay.

The Hotel Bula Bula is a very human size--only 10 lovely, colorful clean rooms. They also have homes in the area. We flew into Liberia and took a van directly to Hotel Bula Bula. The staff quickly responded to any questions we had before we made our reservations. The hotel has porches with comfortable wicker chairs. The clean, sparkling pool... More

My friends and I stayed about a week at this lovely hotel. The setting was gorgeous, and the staff make the visit work. The manager, Felix, was very helpful, the staff were terrific. The arrangements to see the leatherback turtle, the estuary tour, the arrangements for the catamaran trip were all done efficiently and well by Felix and his able... More
