Small resort on the water with beautiful grounds, spacious rooms, friendly staff, a nice open air restaurant and bar. Pool and amenities are nice. Great spot for couples and families. Affordable. Definitely going back.
This was a great hotel. Staff is very friendly. The beach area is beautiful. Rooms are large and comfortable. Some areas are weathered however it was a great stay. The restaurant is decent. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance but a car would be helpful as the hotel is kind of isolated.
WOW! The views from the ocean front suite are incredible! We got to watch a group of monkeys right off the deck! Hotel has private parking which is great for those with cars. All the bars and restaurants are a quick walk across the beach. Roy who checked us in was incredible and the welcome drink was delicious. Only complaint is the air conditioning in our room broke the first night. They repaired it quickly, but it broke again later the same day so the room got quite warm at times, the unit appeared quite old and is probably due for an upgrade.
This Boutique Hotel on the beach is the most beautiful hotel these world travelers have ever visited. The rooms are designed and decorated in modern style. We loved the atmosphere of many national and international guests. The bar and restaurant offered great food including vegetarian options. The beach and ocean were perfect for morning walks and swimming-- the bay tempers the wave action so children can safely enjoy the ocean.
This resort is so perfectly tucked away on the beach you could walk past not realizing it was there. A jungle oasis on a lovely swimming beach with fantastic staff. Quiet rooms except when the monkeys come calling very early morning. Great food, daily happy hour, superb spa treatments. Playa Hermosa is as quiet as it gets for beach locations. If you want hustle bustle go 10k further south to Playa del Coco!
Excellent staff, great boutique hotel atmosphere! We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Costa Rica and loved it. Perfect place for couples, families, or anyone wanting a relaxed but still very nice, quality hotel experience right on the beach in Playa Hermosa. Staff is so helpful and friendly and this truly was the nicest hotel right on the beach in Playa Hermosa. Can’t wait to return!
The location was on a quiet beach. The hotel was very pleasant. Our room was on the ground floor. The room is situated so that there was a direct view into the room. Therefore we kept our curtains drawn most of the time. Therefore if I retuned I might ask for a second floor room. Service was very good. Our room was well appointed.
Great option to unwind with family in a stunning, quiet location on the beach. Great food! It’s a smaller area with not a huge town or night life which was fine for us for one or two nights. Nice beach to stroll along to other hotels and condos.
the hotel was right on the beach and our room was huge with a sitting room and very very clean and updated nicely. The staff was incredibly accommodating and delightful, Right on the beach in a great location.
This hotel ticked almost all the boxes. My only complaint was the size of the pool. For those who don’t want to swim in the sea, the pool is small and designed more for children than for adults who want to go swimming. But other than that, the hotel is ideal. It’s situated on a long sandy beach with a calm sea and beautiful view. Beach loungers and towels are provided for guests. Our junior suite was really nice. Both the bedroom and the living room were very spacious and comfortable. Each had its own TV and there were plenty of plugs around for mobile working wherever we wanted to sit. The ground floor restaurant and upstairs bar (with pool table) are located to make the most of the view. Happy hour (2 for 1) is from 5-7pm and there is a good choice of wines and cocktails. The restaurant/bar menu has a wide choice of dishes and the food is good (not haute cuisine, but very fresh and nicely cooked). The chef is happy to accommodate (reasonable) special requests. The breakfast – ordered from the menu as there is no buffet - is varied, copious and very tasty. The hotel is quite far out, so you need a car to go anywhere. However, the local minimart is within walking distance if you’ve forgotten your flip-flops or sunglasses, or just want a bottle of wine to drink in the room. A plus for the kids is the wildlife. What can be more exciting than sitting in the pool and watching the monkeys or exotic birds in the surrounding trees? A great place to stay. …
