We stayed in front of the place on the beachfront; Massimo told us that the beds are free so we stayed the whole day having drinks and lunch. Janeth makes the best clubsandwiches in Costa Rica! I cannot comment on the rooms but the ambiance on the beach was great!

This place really is right on the beach, yet it is quiet at night. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed: comfy beds, a fridge, a bathroom, and a front patio with chairs. We didn't once find the need to eat off site as the restaurant at the hotel was really wonderful and we quickly fell in love...

We dropped in to Locanda for dinner one evening (were staying elsewhere in Samara)- we were seated and had our drinks served, placed our order for two starters for the table and entrees. We had been in country for almost a week and were totally comfortable with the Costa Rican pace of service, but the fact that we didn't have...

We stayed only 1 night in this hotel during our trip to Costa Rica. We wanted a place right on the beach, and were impressed by the inexpensive rates here. The room was not air conditioned, but the heat was manageable with the fan in the room. The rooms were clean and quiet, but there were a few minor problems...

We were very happy with our stay here. Maurizio the Italian owner was very helpful, welcoming and always assured that all of our needs and questions were met. The rooms are newly remodeled and very very lovely and clean. We ate at the restaurant almost every day for lunch and dinner and the entire time we felt very welcomed. The...

Disregard the previous reviews of this place as it has been recently taken over by two Italians. Max speaks excellent English and is really helpful - he negotiated our taxi off to Mal Pais (well worth a visit if you get a chance). The rooms are fairly basic and there isn't anywhere to hang clothes however they are clean and...

We went to this hotel on the advice of some friends. Wow, what a disappointment. The rooms were very sparse and needed paint and a major overhaul. The hot water did not work properly and to call them clean is an understatement. The restaurant was alright, however, there are much better around. The location was beautiful, however, the bar beside...

The rooms are small and spartan (there are apartment units that looked nicer). We reserved two rooms with warm water and air conditioning. The warm water is delivered by the instant heaters at the shower-head that are typical in Latin America. The installation of these is subpar; people were shocked in both rooms while showering. One room had an a/c...

Actually the apartment was so bad I couldn´t stay there. There was a living room area with no tv and furniture and no towels. The place was full of bugs and very basic. The people who have writen positive reviews must be used to staying in hostels. Location I agree is very good, but even when ordering food, the standard...

“Don't forget to also try the bar next door for really nice maki sushi. and I know my sushi (vancouver). Kayak to Isla Chora for a snorkel and see the huge iguanas. Also great Thai at a miniscule 5 table restaurant just behind the office for Samara Properties on the main street. The summer rolls are fantastic.”
