After reading some of the other reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about staying here. However, we received such service. The staff is kind, accommodating, and attentive. Dixie was especially conscientious about how our experience was going. This is a great place to stay if...More
Hotel was great! Staff was very nice .... Especially Dixie, she went out of our way to make us feel at home and welcome. Would highly recommend!!! Food was great and everyone was willing to help with anything that they could :)
Stayed here as part of a "Monkey Tour" of Costa Rica, and were given a room that resembled a closet that was both dirty and in disrepair.
When concerns were brought to the attention of management they did not seem to care.

The location is beautiful but after a long drive we were very disappointed. Having upgraded we didn't expect to request the linen to be changed and the villa cleaned. It has the potential to be so beautiful but where is the management? When we expressed...More
This is a great location. It is small and friendly. It was nice to go to a place where they were not constantly playing loud Caribbean music. The first surprise was to see horses running free on the beach. Some of my best photos of horses....More

we had a hair dryer in our room 2702 - but the outlet stopped working part way into out trip - I was able to move to the plug just on the outside of the bathroom and still see the mirror so that worked fine though a bit inconvenient. We also brought our own snorkel gear though never really used it - we brought our own floaties and just floated around on the water and used our flippers to move us about!

Aug/Sept are both about the same. It's the rainy season there so it can be pretty hit or miss. We got lucky last Sept and had great weather for four days. The week before it had rained hard for five days. It's a total gamble.
AUGUST is in the middle of the rainy season but there is a lull in the rain at the end of July & beginning of August. This is especially true of Guanacaste. The Caribbean side is solidly in the rainy season weather pattern with some rain nearly every afternoon and/or evening. August us a great time of year to visit Costa Rica if you have some flexibility in your travel schedule. August tends to be a quieter month and there are often deals to be found in the country if you don’t mind a little precipitation and are on a budget:
SEPTEMBER is a rainy month on the west coast and throughout the mountains of Costa Rica. The Pacific beaches and central valley regions get significant rain. This generally comes in a pattern of sunny mornings followed by showers in the afternoon or evening. The South Pacific and Osa Peninsula areas are inundated by days or even weeks of continuous rainfall driven by westerly winds. The Caribbean side of the country gets a break in September and October.
