Everything about this place was wonderful. We booked 3 rooms all facing the ocean. The rooms were clean, spacious and nicely appointed. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic. I can't wait to come here again next year.
We had an Oceanview room on the back side amd had a very nice view. The premises was quiet, security was always present, and there's a safe gated parking lot for your vehicle. Front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast included, delivered to your door at your specified time that you choose and from a menu that you select from. Excellent choices and delicious fresh fruits. You can rent surf boards or use boogie boards free of charge. There are loungers out back and at the pool in the center of the courtyard. We would absolutely return. Short walk down the beach to shortcut into town or a short walk down the sidewalk all the same. Far enough to be quiet, not far enough to be a nuisance.
Quiet peaceful stay. All of the staff were really helpful and nice. Hotel has direct access to the beach. They offer lounge/beach chairs. The staff helped us setup different tours or activities, which was super helpful. Overall, had a great time and would recommend this place.
Loved it! Great, small hotel with a fantastic location. About 25 rooms, right sized pool, beach is about 20 steps from the hotel with a great shaded area. Kayaks and surfboards to rent for reasonable prices. They do NOT have a restaurant or bar so if you absolutely need that then stay somewhere else. They DO provide a nice continental breakfast (cereal, bread for roasting, yogurt, juice, coffee, and choice of 8 different kinds of fresh fruit) that is delivered to your room every morning. There is a small kitchenette in the room also with a minimal set of pots/utensils for cooking. The area that the hotel is located is about 1/4 mile from the BUSY tourist district. You can walk to it but it is nice and quiet down by the hotel. Also, probably the best stretch of Tamarindo beach is right by the hotel. Good surfing for beginners. The only downside that the hotel cannot control is that you MUST pass through the busy district to go anywhere outside of Tamarindo. It can take you 15-20 minutes to drive the 1.5 miles to get out of Tamarindo just because of the congestion and pedestrians. Lastly, and perhaps “bestly”…we arrived the day after my wife’s birthday and I was able to work with James covertly to have a personalized chocolate (wife’s fave) birthday cake waiting in the room when we arrived. She loved it and I scored some serious husband points!…
Coast Beachfront is reasonably good value. Good location. A short (very warm) walk to most of the restaurants and shops. Rooms are small with a king bed, small dining table and two wooden dining chairs. No comfortable seating indoors but that’s not a big problem since we sat on the tiny patio most of the time. The bathroom was big, clean and new. We had a bathroom set up for wheelchair access, and there was virtually no counter space for our toiletries. Almost all of the rooms face the pool, although there are a few beach front rooms. And the sidewalk between the beach and the street runs along the front of the rooms. This means there is no privacy in your room (without drapes closed) or on your tiny patio. This is not a huge issue since the hotel is small and there wasn’t much traffic. And most of the guests were friendly and respectful of our privacy, with a quick nod or hello as they walked past. The kitchenette was rudimentary and we used the fridge to store drinks and breakfast provisions, such as eggs, butter and cheese to supplement the continental breakfast delivered to the room every morning. The A/C worked great. There was adequate hot water, but it arrived via a water conserving shower head - ubiquitous in CR. The staff were really friendly and helpful when we asked assistance to make reservations. One thing that seemed a little odd was that we arrived between 12 and 1 pm and were told our room would be ready by 2. We went for lunch, came back at 2 and were again told the room wasn’t ready (and were reminded that check-in is 3 pm). At exactly 3 pm the front desk staff came to the pool to tell us the room was ready. We had the distinct impression that the hotel has a policy of not checking guests in before its stated check-in time, regardless of whether the rooms are ready. I’ve never experienced this before. It was a one-off and we had no other issues. As an added bonus we were visited by howler monkeys, surprisingly considering the dense development. Even more remarkably, we had turtles hatch on the beach one evening! Definitely a highlight of our time in CR. If I were to stay here again I would pay the higher price for a waterfront room. We tried to upgrade but none were available…
Great location right on the beach. The room was adequate and the grounds were very well kept. We found the staff to be extremely kind and helpful. The continental breakfast was plentiful and good. However after a twelve day stay we wished that there was different options to eat.
This was a great hotel, very comfortable room It was very close to the restaurants and beach bar All within walking distance And no restaurant or bar on the property so it’s very quiet at night Very nice beach right in front without all the peoples asking you to buy their stuff The pool and chairs are always very clean and available You can bring your own drinks on the beach or at the pool You get a wonderful breakfast each morning delivered to your bedroom door at the time you pick and you pick what you prefer in advance You get a whole thermos of coffee each morning with milk and sugar plus a lot more Great place and I strongly recommend it Costa Rica has so much improved since my last visit John and Nicole
Excellent location, staff and value! We were warmly welcomed and made Christmas dinner reservation after flight delays. Included breakfast was fresh and on time. Friendliest staff I’ve come across in a very long time. A true surprise and treasure that we’ll return to!
I love THE COAST- Beachfront Hotel Tamarindo! Beautiful Hotel direct at an amazing beach. The complete team is friendly and helpful. I recommend totally. It has a relaxed atmosphere (not crowded or noisy). I was there 5 weeks on my own, recuperating after an kneeoperation, hadding a great time, enjoying swimming in the Pool and in the Pacific. You can also have massage and do surfing. People liked the beginners instructions or rent a board. A lot of people from every age come here again every year! Thank you for having a wonderful time in paradise!
This property is perfect for the traveler that likes to have a home base. You have a kitchenette that provides you with the opportunity to cook if you want or at least have snacks and drinks available. They even have a blender which got alot of use for our afternoon pool cocktail time on your patio. The pool is lovely and the center of the property. It makes it like a little community. People chat and become neighbors of a sort. It is impeccably clean! The staff are amazing. Very friendly helpful and super thoughtful. They have security at the beach which is literally 50 ft from the property. I felt very safe in Costa Rica but its nice to be able to keep your stuff on a chair and not worry about anything. Its walking distance to town, bars, restaurants and excursion outlets. I've told all my friends about the wonderful little gem of a hotel. I'm hoping to come back for a month next visit! Thank you Stephanny and all the staff at The Coast Beachfront Hotel for such a wonderful stay!!!!…
