Where can I start with this place, Tamarindo Backpackers is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed at! Definitely better than the others I have tried in Tamarindo. It isn't located on the main strip of town, so you don't have to worry about hearing people walking by at night. And it's just a 5 minute walk from the...

Stayed here for 3 nights. Loved it. Friendly helpful staff and comfy beds and a pool, nice open communal areas to chill in. Would highly recommend. Only a 10min walk from town. Super close to the beach and some good traditional restaurants :)

How do I sum up my time at Tama Backpackers? To start, the staff is INCREDIBLE. The owner is always around with a smile, and all the staff that live on site are so approachable and fun. They really made staying here feel like I was staying in a house with some friends. The dorms are some of the best...

The location is kind of weird but once you get there it's a great hostel. It has a pool if you don't want to swim in the ocean for some reason and generally has a lot of fun sociable people. The staff were super helpful and chatty. They knew a ton about not only Tamarindo but all of Costa Rica...

If you are staying in Tamarindo for at least two nights I would recommend this hostel. It's not located at the beach but it has a small pool and refreshing young employees. The spirit of the staff makes people stay longer than they had originally planned. Dan and his crew will perfectly inform you about the in and outs of...

After having stayed in a hostel in San Francisco, CA we decided we would try it in Tamarindo. My party consisted of myself, my husband and our 2 kids (10 & 11). We had a private room with private bath. It was perfect. While we were there I think there may have been 20 other people staying in the hostel...

First experience in an hostel, and it was really nice! Its a beautiful place with nice people and the people who works there are really nice and talkable! Pool is sick after the beach, hamaks too. WiFi is working okay. No real rules, so i guess its nice for party people but not so much if you want a really...

This place is amazing! If you are looking for a spot to stay near downtown Tamarindo, with awesome staff, and chill vibe, this is it. The staff is super helpful and the hostel is clean. They have bunk rooms if you are a solo traveler or private rooms if you want more privacy. They have a kitchen, pool, and good...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tamarindo Backpackers is a boutique beach hostel. Anne the owner works very hard to improve the hostel on a daily basis. Tamarindo Backpackers is a small, friendly place to stay just minutes from the beach. Get to know fellow travelers in the communal kitchen or chilling by the pool. Its a super friendly and fun atmosphere. We are the Lonely Planet Guide recommended hostel in Tamarindo for several years running! Here's what Lonely Planet has to say about us: "Our favorite hostel in Tamarindo, this intimate, all-star backpacker spot, in a gorgeous yellow hacienda is big enough to make new friends . . . small enough to feel more like home. The common kitchen area has a large, full-stocked shared Kitchen, cable TV and FREE coffee. Dorm and private rooms are clean and comfy. Outside, you will find lovely tropical gardens, small pool and hammocks, all surrounded by woods where you'll hear howler monkeys every morning".- By Lonely Planet 2011.
