A beautiful well kept hotel in the centre of the town. Great vice, good food, and bar service. The staff are very helpful. They have an open mic each week which is a favourite with the locals and visitors alike. Love this place.

A superb family safe haven just around the corner from the party chaos of Tamarindo. The staff were all very friendly and helpful but a particular shout out to Shawny in reception. Absolute wizard at organizing day and half day trips and activities to make your stay in Tamarindo memorable. We stayed 6 nights as a family of 4 - the food was great on the couple of occasions we did not go into town, the cocktails by the pool were a favourite too. Highly recommended.

A delightful haven 5 minutes from the excitement of Tamarindo, that allows you to luxuriate in peace by the pool. They don’t push the bar snacks – but don’t be fooled – they are excellent. The responsiveness and empathy of all the employees is contagious and plays a big role in feeling "pampered" all the time, without being intrusive. The property was beautiful, rooms spacious with effective air-con, coffee machine and very well presented. Dave the owner was fantastic and really accommodating. I would not hesitate to book again! Oh - and its 5 minutes to the beach.

The grounds are nice with tropical plants around a central swimming pool. Breakfast is included with suitable selections, with a view of the gardens and pool. Hotel has an easy walk into town an a small grocery store close by. Rooms are "basic" but sufficient (A/C, TV) - the room has a key operated safe.

Once inside the tropical, jungle hotel, you leave the chaos of the street behind. nice shady pool area, quiet rooms and friendly, helpful front desk staff. Rooms were very clean, safe in room. If you are leaving early you need to tell them so they can unlock the gate. Very nice atmosphere and good value for the price

Hotel Pasatiempo was a level above a youth hostel. The entrance and decor was very tired. The travel lodge in the Uk (basic) gives a better welcome. The three of us arrived on the 18 th March for 4 nights but couldn’t stay more than one night. On our arrival two female staff were sat behind the reception desk eating their lunch. No ‘welcome’ given no information on bar times etc etc, just ‘your room’s not ready’ (we were an hour early). We found the bar and sat on dirty tatty sofa’s and ordered a snack. We were shown to our room which had ceiling coving coming away and bathroom and bedroom ceiling lights hanging down. We reported the bathroom light and it was mended straight away. The pictures and description on the website do not give a true picture of this hotel otherwise we would never have booked. Tamarindo is very busy and if you like an Ibiza town fun time it’s your place to go. Good choice of restaurants and bars to eat in.

I have no idea how or why this hotel is so highly rated. This is one of the worst experiences and ruined the last half of my trip. Aside from the shower and central location this hotel failed miserably. The Good The shower water pressure is great. The Bad Hotel needs updating and free breakfast is marginal. Air-conditioning is poor and you cannot set it to very cold. Staff is also not very accommodating especially considering the price. Front desk did nothing to help with booking an airport transfer. They also have a strict cancellation policy and considering we could not sleep due to the rave going on behind us they were unwilling to work on any deal. The Worse I cannot stress this enough you will NOT SLEEP here. The hotel is the sound break for a pop up rave. The walls shake and you are basically trying to sleep in the middle of a club. Fine for a night but after multiple nights absolutely ridiculous. For the price this hotel is a giant disappointment. Do not book-literally stay anywhere else the 4.3 stars is a lie or fake.

Very nice place if you want it small and nice. Very attractive pool area, still small but very tasteful. If your lucky the monkeys will make a visit during breakfast, or afternoon beer. Still, the best part is the staff, all very friendly with special gold stars to Santiago, Chuchu and Kata ( I'm sure the other ones are just as good, its just that these guys were the ones we communicated the most with). The beach is a 3 minutes walk away, and it might be wise not staying directly on the beach since prices are much higher there. I've learned you should always give some critical feed back as well and that has to be that there's no refrigirator in the rooms. However, my wife and the girls in the kitchen solved it, we could cool our beers in theirs.
