The rooms are very spacious. We got a mini apartment with kitchen which was very convenient. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice pool area and the location is great. It's a very convenient place to stay in Tamarindo :)
Not only is a nice place to stay, the staff was really friendly and you can walk to the beach. They even sent me my shoes back via mail because I left them there. We got a spacious room for three, we had a private bathroom and a fridge.
Great location and great staff. Sarah at the front desk is always ready to help. You’re in the middle of the action with great restaurants nearby and quick access to the beach. Also, having a mini-grocery store next door is a nice bonus. If you are the hotel type, i.e. must have all of the creature comforts, don’t stay here. However, if you just need a functional room with a comfortable bed, by all means stay here. Finally, the price is right, as I paid just $70/night and that’s all in with taxes and everything. I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Tamarindo.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Both myself and my family really enjoyed it. The suite felt like home. The pool, grounds and hotel over all were excellent. The staff were exceptional. I can't say enough about the whole team. We were really spoiled. I think it is most under rated hotel in Tamarindo and a very well kept secret. There were multiple guest that were staying for one or two months. I can see why. We will return next year for another month. Thanks Tomas! You have a great hotel and awesome staff.
When we arrived and were checked in, we were led into the car park area and told "here's your room". We booked a Standard Double which (according to photos on the hotel and all booking sites) looks into a garden and the pool. We had a view of car bonnets. We complained but were told "sorry, we're full. You're lucky, there are worse rooms". The room was all white. White walls, white(ish) (greyish) sheets, off-white curtains, nothing of interest on the walls. Bathroom very tired. Didn't get hot water at all for our three night stay. Shower from the 1970s and sprayed everywhere but at the person showing... just descale it FFS! The shared kitchen was a nice idea but dirty and all the utensils several years past their best. The day we arrived, the pool water was "milky", couldn't see the bottom. There's scum all around the edges. Cleared up a bit second day. We didn't see the sun loungers cleaned at all during our stay, and because the grass around the pool is VERY thin (non-existent in places), guests getting out of the pool get muddy transferring this mud on the beds. It's not nice. If we'd had the room we paid for, we might have been more tolerant, but it all combined to a grim package leaving a bitter taste. Can't recommend it. …
Today I tried to cancel my reservation with this property approximately a week before my stay, given the new COVID-19 variant. In fact, the U. S. Embassy recommended waiting to visit at a later date without so many restrictions in the country of Costa Rica. Even giving a one-week notice, this property still charged me for one night. If seeking a hotel in the Tamarindo area, you are better off staying somewhere with better customer service and more lenient cancellation policies. I found my message correspondence to be rude on the hotel’s end. Try to avoid this hotel if you can, especially if you might need to cancel for future reasons. There are many other better hotels and hostels in the same area.
We stayed at Villas Macondo for 6 nights. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. It is like a small oasis in the middle of town, literally 5 minutes walking distance to the beach. The pictures you see in their profile (at booking.com etc) depict exactly how the villas are. The managers were excellent in helping us with a variety of questions. It is very clean and well kept. Our only complain could be the furniture in the living area of one-bedroom villa we stayed in. The futon sofa was wuite uncomfortable to watch TV or so, but we didn’t care much, since we were mostly out in the pation or at the beach. I would definitely stay there again.
The Hotel is very fair play, price is very good for the quality, rooms are clean, nice air-condition is good, a nice pool, playing area for the kids, not far from the beach with privat parking, we come back
The Villas were quaint and perfect plus central to everything in Tamarindo. Samantha and Simona were super helpful in arranging rides and adventures. Walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants and nightlife.
This hotel was clean, quaint, quiet and within walking distance of everything in Tamarindo. The ladies in the front office were very knowledgeable about surrounding activities and helped book almost all of our excursions! They definitely went above and beyond!
