My husband booked this trip for his 50th bday and when his buddy was unable to go, I was next in line to tag along. I am not a surfer however, and this has been on his bucket list for quite a while so I was happy to be a part of it. It definitely was a different type of...

Volcano brewing is part of Witch's Rock Surf Camp. Best place to see surfers and great view of sunset. The food is great but caters to more bar-esque food such as burgers and finger food. We must not forget that this is also a Brewing company and Witch's Rock Pale Ale and Hazzelhopp IPA are a must try.

I want to thank everyone at the Witches Rock for a wonderful two weeks. From the staff at the front desk to the ladies providing the massages (who kept me going everyday) Thank You!! I have traveled all over the world and this was by far my best experience3. My surf instructor Monique had me riding on the first day...

This review is for the Witch’s Rock experience but does not include a review for accommodations. On-site accommodations at Witch’s Rock were sold out when we booked our trip and online reviews made us wary of the Dorado. So, we chose to stay at the Diria. Please reference our Diria review for details, but the summary is we didn’t think...

Ok, first, why Costa Rica over anywhere else. Well we didn't want to travel to a country where the number one advice is "just stay on the resort." We wanted to experience a country, and the culture. Costa Rica provides the safety, and a people who are welcoming enough to allow you to do just that. As for Witch's Rock,...

Witch's Rock is the absolute best place to learn to surf... they have it down to a science. Being my first time surfing, I was nervous about a lot.... the ocean, if I were going to be able to do it, if I were in shape enough for it, etc. The staff and especially the instructors put all my fears...

This was the best 7 day structured surf camp of my 18 day trip. In my 3 lady dorm I met true gems. Similar in age and skill level, almost like they paired us up well. The instruction is perfectly laid out, the conditions are amazing. The surf is literally steps from your bedroom. The free breakfast is delicious and...

What a great choice we made! I wanted to learn to surf before turning 50 and this was the place to go. My first instructor was a bit impatient with me so I asked for a another who ended up being fantastic. I was notably improved each day and by the end of the week, was catching wave after wave...

Only drawback was not enough local beers on tap. Good guest beers. Enjoyed meeting both the locals and the visitors. Need to offer a double IPA and bummed their most popular beer was kicked. Staff was very friendly and engaging!

Freindly, food is good . Been several times. Priced right. Menus is basic as any public style. Breakfast is always good. The pinto rice is excellent as are the smoothies. We will go back. Marlboro was our server and was wonderful.
