Perfect location with wonderful hosts. We saw monkeys, iguanas and hummingbirds. Breakfast was delightful and the beach gorgeous. We also learned a very valuable lesson...croissants are NOT bread. Thank you for a beautiful visit, Alexia and Oliver! Happy Holidays to Prince George, Amazone and Max! Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Blanca in January 2020, and I am embarrassed to say that we got so busy on our return that I never realized until now, how I hadn’t written a review yet. I guess I could have skipped the review altogether but didn’t want to because Casa Blanca is a jewel of a boutique hotel, worth writing a review for. I have covered over 8000km in 2 years throughout CR and have stayed in everything from tents to 5-Star hotels and must say that we were very pleased with our stay at Casa Blanca. If you like quaint types of accommodations, removed from all the hustle & bustle but yet directly on the beach and at a walking distance from the core of the action (and also with a cozy pool), then this is the perfect place for you. Alexia & Olivier (the owners), as well as all of their staff were worthy of an accolade for excellent service! The views from their hotel were beautiful and the howler monkeys doing their daily trek through Casa Blanca’s trees every morning and end of days were a delight to watch. The room was very clean and comfortable and the delicious breakfast was a refreshing change from the typical CR breakfast. The fact that this hotel only has a few rooms meant more peace and quiet!! Great location, beautiful views, friendly service, delicious food…if you don’t like staying there then perhaps you should truly reassess your needs!

We needed a low key vacation to relax and unwind, and we found the perfect place to do just that. Oliver, Alexia, and Coca do everything possible to exceed your expectations. The tranquil setting, the wildlife to watch (Monkeys and iguanas galore) , and the quiet beach all add up to a great time. If you want to people watch and get involved with surfing, etc it's a short walk down the beach, so by staying here you can have it all, just the way you want it. It's Tamarindo, sometimes the water pressure comes and goes, the internet isn't rock solid, but the pros of this city and Casa Blanca far, far out weigh any small inconveniences. Do yourself a favor if Tamarindo is on your list of vacation spots read the reviews and put Casa Blanca at the top of your list. Thanks Alexia, Oliver, and Coca!! Mark and Laura

We absolutely loved staying here. We felt welcome immediately and the location and setting were exactly what we were hoping for. The hotel is quiet and the view of the ocean plus access to the beach are perfect. The owners obviously care very much about their hotel and about making sure their guests have a great visit. Coca, our breakfast waiter, is the best - kind, warm, funny, and makes you feel at home by remembering how you like your coffee and shaking your hand each day. Breakfast was incredible - delicious and sitting outside looking at the water. The housekeeper was also very sweet and made sure to ask us if we had everything we needed. The location is great - very close to town but not so close that you have to deal with crowds or party-ers. We visited several beaches and our favorite was the one just north of the hotel - accessible by a quick boat ride (like 2 minutes) that costs only $1. The restaurant next door was the perfect place for our last dinner in Costa Rica - amazing food and great atmosphere and views. Finally, the monkeys in the trees right above the hotel were a huge highlight. Also the iguanas and birds were amazing. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I return.

This B&B is a great location if you are looking for quiet, relaxed destination. The rooms are basic yet clean and offer quite the view. It is located on main road as you enter the Tamarindo area; however it backs onto the beach - awesome views of Playa Tamarindo, Playa Grande and the River. Nice grounds with plenty of sitting/lounging area to enjoy the view, a glass of wine/beer, or read a book. Seeing the monkeys in the morning and evenings was a pleasant surprise. Alexia prepares a wonderful breakfast; she and her husband Olivier, along with Coca, are great hosts with an eye to detail. They will ensure your stay is enjoyable and are a great source of tours info. Saludos y mejores deseos para Alexia y Olivier! Thank you for your hospitality.... Sandra & Eddie, Houston, Tx

We made a conscious decision to stay at a smaller boutique hotel versus the larger ones available in Taramundo. We were in Costa Rica for a wedding and most of our party was staying down the street at a large hotel and were very unhappy. WOW did we make the right choice!!! First, location! Just enough away from the noisy down town, but close enough to walk to any Taramindo destination. We had monkeys, Iguanas, (but never saw a crocodile) and all forms of wild life coming to visit each day, we loved it.. Second the room was spacious and comfy. I would agree with some that the rooms are a bit basic, but, they are very clean and comfortable. Anything we asked for (extra towels, shampoo, etc.) was delivered quickly with a smile. Third, the food. Alexia is an amazing chef.. She prepares a home made meal each morning and will continue to customize your breakfast once she learns your tastes.. no hotel will do that!! Finally, and for us the most important was Alexia and Olivia themselves. They were nothing short of amazing.. so helpful and kind. Olivia helped my partner get all the fishing equipment he needed (actually took him to the hardware store), Alexia helped us get a last minute rental car at a good price and took me in her vehicle to pick it up. Gave us travel tips all the time which made our stay amazing! I would absolutely recommend this place and plan to come back next year with my adult children!

Small hotel, few rooms. Clean, cozy-homey with really great staff/owners, French. A very good breakfast served on the beachfront. You even get towels for the beach. I recommend this hotel in Tamarindo beach.

The view of Hotel Casa Blanca from the road does not do it justice. Once you get to the back side, you realize it's the best kept secret in Tamarindo. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown and has lovely shade and views of the Pacific as well as the river. There are hammocks in the trees and tables and chairs for relaxing. The best restaurant in town is right next door facing the ocean. Alexia and Olivier are wonderful hosts. Alexia cooks an exquisite french breakfast and serves it outside in this lovely setting. It was peaceful, restful and so accommodating. I was so glad I was not at a big resort.

This place had me read all over. A little B&B on the coast of the Pacific. Alexia was a blessing. She had home made breakfast waiting for me every morning. The room was what you would want if you’re not looking for a 5 star resort. A clean room, a nice bed and a very nice shower. Not to mention a very cool balcony overlooking the water. A place on the beach, an amazing Alexia to make breakfast and set up excursions for you. Would I return? In a heartbeat! Thank you Alexia for my trip. I will see you again my friend!

This cute little hotel is just the perfect place if you are staying a night or two in Tamarindo! Alexia (manager) was a delight to work with. She was so helpful (booked all of our shuttles) and gave us wonderful tips. Alexia made us the most delicious breakfast with freshly baked bread and other goodies. It is right on the beach (where the river meets the ocean) and the sunsets are exquisite. (This is why there is sand in the rooms, as per the unfavorable past review.) It is right next door to Pangas Restaurant. This was the most delicious meal that we had during our whole trip. I would recommend Hotel Casa Blanca. It felt like a little authentic jem of a place!
