We stayed here for one night only,The room, facilities and setting were superb, our only disappointment was the dining room, which lacked atmosphere and was functional and not very welcoming. The evening meal and breakfast were both buffet and the food served was uninteresting and in our opinion did not live up to the standard that one expected from this hotel. The staff were friendly...

A long walk to our room in a beautiful setting. Coffee and water readily available throughout the day. Breakfast was good and enjoyed watching the bird table. Pizza was undercooked and disappointing In the evening. Was somewhat surprised that the beds were made up before we had vacated our room on the last morning.

We have stayed at Selva Verde many times, but perhaps never again. Over Christmas the lodge is booked with families who do not supervise their children/teens. Very uncomfortable having to do their job.

The location is excellent with secondary and primary forest birding and wildlife opportunities. The guides, Ivan and Ronald, are knowledgeable and personable. I went on the 6am birding walk, 9am nature walk, and private macro photography session. Each had wonderful highlights. The macro photography was my favorite with opportunities to photograph Gaudy Leaf Frog, Black and Green and Blue Jean...

The Selva Verde Lodge is in the rainforest along the Sarapiqui River. It is a birders paradise and has incredible plants and wildlife. The natural beauty is outstanding, but be prepared for frequent rainfall. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food, which is included, is great and plentiful. We enjoyed it immensely. Great place for photographers.

Visited this beautiful property in January and enjoyed every minute of our 3 day stay here. You are immersed in the beautiful natural environment surrounded by colorful flowers, birds and other wildlife close by. The staff is accommodating and the owner walks around to be sure that everyone is comfortable and happy in this place. Rooms are clean and safe...

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights Jan 22 and 23, 2017. We were in room CB2, right along the highway. Do yourself a favor and bring earplugs, not for the howler monkeys but for the 18 wheel trucks! The nature was amazing! So many birds! The river is beautiful. The breakfast and dinner buffet was good. Plenty...

Our first trip to CR included staying at this wonderful lodge. All meals were included and the manager of the site, Gustavo went out of his way to make us comfortable after we found that the room we were given was close to a noisy road. I'd recommend rooms near the rushing river #44, in particular. They have a wonderful large...

We have only good things to say about our experience at the La Selva. We were pampered from when they met us at our hotel in Quito all the way until we stepped onto the dock of their gorgeous property and were greeted with cool towels and cocktails and that standard remained for the whole visit. The staff was accomodating...

This wonderful place is in the middle of the rainforest in Costa Rica. It has most wonderful cabins with shuttered windows and open-air roof. One can hear the hollar monkeys and all of the wonderful birds. We only ate a few meals there because they do not excel at this, but everything else was great.
