IT was getting dark and we were nervous, unable to find a place to stay for the night. We saw a sign - Magellan Inn and turned down the dirt road filled with rain puddles. It didn't look promising until we saw the light at the gate. I got out to check availability and the rooms. It was November 1993...

This is a great place and looked to be the most modern and nicest place in the area. We stayed for 3 nights and the location was great, the beach was just a 300 meter walk away, the breakfast was coffee, juice, fruit, and homemade breads, AC worked great, nice pool area. Thank you Marleny for the great service!

I recently spent six days at this beautifully landscaped, friendly, interesting, comfortable and peaceful Inn in Cahuita, Costa Rica. It has a lovely and efficient owner, Terry, who did her best to make my stay comfortable and interesting. I was on a trip with a 12 year old grandson who is busy every minute. I wasn't sure he'd be okay...

This is our 3rd time staying in Cahuita and we will return to this B&B. The room was clean and had AC! Terry and Kika were great and scheduled our excursions. The grounds were fabulous - within 5 minutes of being at the inn, we saw toucans. The horses, chickens, dogs and birds were a perfect addition - especially if...

One of the most smiling and accomodating persons I have ever met! Throughout our stay she did everything she could to make us feel comfortable and easy, she organized both a full day horseriding trip,...

My girlfriend and I just returned from a 10-night stay in Costa Rica, and the best three of those nights were at the Magellan Inn. It wasn't until we went horseback riding near here that we discovered this end of Cahuita, and nearby Playa Negra and Playa Grande. Just a short drive out of town on a bumpy but driveable...

our family of 4 had a great two night stay at the end of January. We enjoyed the early morning sightings of agoutis, a huge iguana in a tree, and a sloth and her baby. Everyone there was welcoming and they brought out pancakes for my son who was celebrating his birthday. We were comfortable with the four of us...

We first discovered this hotel in 1994 when it was practically new. It is just as wonderful now as it was then. Ownership is still in the same family - the gardens have matured and it is a delightful place to spend a few night while exploring the area.

We so loved the parrots, Jack and Chica! Terry was a gracious host, and eagerly assisted us in getting a last minute zip-line tour scheduled. She was very helpful and kind. The rooms a nicely appointed, beds comfortable, the pools is great, and the gardens are beautifly maintained. Breakfast was continental, but very tasty. We walked to the nearby Carribean...
