This place is amazing, it is close to the town. You have your own balcony. There are a lot of places in the garden where you can chill and relax. The staff is friendly . If you pay cash at arrival it will be cheaper. You can rent a bike there aswell.

A beautiful retreat in the outskirts of the lively little beach town Puerto Viejo. Here is everything combined: a quiet retreat packed with palm trees that is in walking distance to Playa Negra, supermarkets and other shops, restaurants and bars. Pura vida. The staff is friendly and helped us with everything from giving tips where to go, where to eat... More

Comfortable and met our simple needs. Very rustic and very dark room however it has a nice balcony where you can have a nap in the hammock. The hotel gardens are nice and n'sync with nature. Walking distance of 5 blocks to the beach and so easy to find. Be careful at night walking toward the hotel as it is... More

We stayed at Coco Loco for 4 nights in the beginning of September. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly. Great location in the town as it's a few blocks away from the loud music but close enough to walk most places. The outside of the bungalow was super cute but the inside was seriously lacking.... Perfect place to stay. A few blocks from the beach, while still being close to everything. We rented bikes and was able to get anywhere we wanted in just a few minutes. Being back from the beach a bit offered a more quiet and peaceful stay.

This was my second time staying at Coco Loco Lodge in Puerto Viejo, both times on trips with friends. It is a lovely property, very rustic and calm as it is mostly out of earshot of noise from the town. It's close enough to walk everywhere though: banks, supermarkets, sodas (small restaurants) etc. The cabins are simple (no a/c but... More

I really like this place. No. It is NOT American, but why travel to another country for American? No thank you. These are situated on beautiful grounds. We had one with the outside kitchen which, of course, we did not use but it was available should we choose to do so. The staff was amazing and available to answer any... More

Loved Coco Loco lodge, loved Puerto Viejo! The staff at the lodge went above and beyond to help us out with a situation that had nothing to do with them. The people in the town were very friendly and courteous. Having said that, if you want Holiday Inn type lodging this is not for you. Coco Loco to me was... More

Coco Loco Lodge appeared to be a nice place at the first glance: well kept garden, spacious room, helpful staff, even a little playground to keep my kids happy. However, our room (Nr 7) had a serious issue with cleaningness and maintenance: The room had obiously not been cleaned for a while, spiderwebs and gecko pooh on the bathroom shelves,... More
