We had an amazing time at Aracari. The weather was swelteringly hot and humid but the rooms were clean, neat, and had great fans to keep us cool. The courtyard of the hostel abounds with wildlife - on each day we saw numerous toucans, iguanas, a snake, and other bird life. The staff are relaxed and super friendly. The morning...

Have stayed in many hostels around the world and I must say that this is one of the best. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great amenities and a relaxed vibe that really makes it a home from home and a great place to meet other travellers/just relax in a hammock by yourself. The tours they organise are excellent value for money. Fully...

We had a quadruple room - double and two bunks - for 3 nights in March 2017. The room was spacious and clean. Shared kitchen facilities were fine. Staff running the hostel were friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend. We also arranged two excellent tours through them with Luis (Tortuguero EcoExperiences) which we will review separately.

I am a costarican guy who visited Tortuguero staying in Aracari Garden Hostel and I can say this hostel was the best for my 3 nights. The general place is clean: the rooms, kitchen, couchs to chill, hammocks, everything; everyday there are staff cleaning it! The staff is very friendly; owners are always trying to improve their hostel; they give...

Even before I was in Costa Rica I've had email contact with Aracari Garden Hostel in how to get there from La Fortuna. They reply really quick to emails, they've informed me about the possibilities and they even booked the shuttle for me. This made me feel very welcome! I was picked up at the dock by Louis, one of...

Of course you can stay in an expensive resort, away from the hustle and bustle of Tortuguero village, but in my opinion you would be selling yourself short. Tortuguero is a very special place, without cars and only one stretch of concrete path; the rest are sandy paths where still a lot of people walk barefoot. Aracari Garden hostel is...

Value for price, by far the best hostel of the dozen of so hostels or b&b's we stayed at in costa rica or panama. The staff are welcoming, the tidy grounds offer several hammocks, our room with an ensuite was spacious and clean and the communal kitchen had pretty much everything you needed, including early morning complimentary coffee. Owner, Alejandro,...

We stayed ay Aracari fo three days whilst visiting Tortuguero. From the very start I was impressed with the way Marina and Alejandro communicated with us, answering our questions and booking boat tickets from us. And that was before we had even set foot in the hostel. This helpfulness continued when we got there and we immediately felt relaxed and...
