We were to la casona only for their breakfast, and we recommend it to all travellers like us who have a room wihout breakfast option in tortuguero. We tried several things in the village but this was definitely the best we had for under 10 dollas: if you like a huge banana pancake or an excellent omelette for breakfast (...

I highly recommend La Casona. We stayed for two nights and had no complaints. The owner was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was included. They served coffee, tea, fruit and bread. They have put a lot of work into landscaping and common areas. The rooms are clean and what you would expect. They clean them everyday. This is huge compared...

I would recommend La Casona without hesitation. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much! The location is great (Tortuguero is tiny so everything is close to everything). The property is adorable, with a nice common area with hammocks and big tables for breakfast, surrounded by a pretty tropical garden. The wifi is strongest in the common area...

Haveing backpacked for a couple months, mostly staying in dorms, before I came here, it was nice to have my own room for a change. The people were very nice, good quiet location, and the room was pretty clean and nice. Considering you pay just over $20 US per night for a private room with bathroom, this place is very...

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are super simple, but it works and it is clean and the beds are comfortable enough. The area for breakfast is great and Jenny (owner) let you use her large and well maintained kitchen. We made a dinner for a couple go Kiwis and Swiss people who we met there. Great evening. The...

I totally agree with the last few reviews. La Casona is a cute, comfortable and clean place to stay. The people here are very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was basic but tasty. I WAS impressed that they met us at the boat dock. I sent one email asking how we arranged that service and since I left for CR shortly...

As you'll find on a cursory search, the accommodation in Tortuguero falls in two categories: high end Eco lodge, or budget cabins. La casona definitely falls in the latter. It is perfectly comfortable and clean, and there is reliable(ish) hot water, but the rooms aren't winning any points for style. We had a perfectly nice stay here, and the staff...

La casona has good value for money. The rooms are quite large and have private bathrooms with hot water. The people who run la casona are really sweet and help booking tours and transport. The boat tour with andres that la casona organized was really good. Location and wifi are good. Breakfast is simple but the Coffee is tasty.

We stayed here for 2 nights during a time when it was continually raining. The room was comfortable, and everything worked. We had a fan. The breakfasts were good, and we were able to arrange all types of activities through La Casona. There's one issue with La Casona that could be easily rectified. The courtyard you must cross to get...

We stayed here for 3 nights in this family hotel and had a very pleasant stay. We had booked a package with breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 tours. All the food was very nice and various. Andres, our tour guide, knew a lot about the nature and the animals. The rooms were cleaned every day. All the staff is very...
