Torteguero is a funny old place. You are fairly limited on lodging options due to the boat access but if you end up at Pachira Lodge you will have a great time. It is well place opposite Torteguero village and in close proximity to all the waterways you need to be taken down on the boat safaris. The lodge rooms...

As part of a Caravan Tour, my wife and myself stayed at the Aninga Lodge in the heart of Tortuguero National Park. It can only be reached by boat and is carved out of the rainforest. The lodge consists of a main building (registration, sitting area, and dining room), pool area (bar located here too), and a series of cabins...

Accommodation is basic but very very comfortable and superbly maintained. The location is beautiful with nature right outside your lodge complete with Howler monkeys as your early morning alarm call! However the food was good but whatever was served for lunch was exactly what was served for dinner. Staff helpful and sympathetic to the Eco system.

I was a bit worried about staying in these basic accommodations but had a fine time. The grounds are beautiful.. We stayed here two nights on our Caravan tour. There were no bugs in our cabin. We might have seen a mosquito or two between 6 and 7 pm but that was no big deal. We enjoyed the peace of...

We were lucky to stay for two nights in Pachira lodge. We stayed in a four room cabin with a wide gallery and connecting paths. We were welcomed by a group of howling monkeys that were less curious to see us that we were to see them! playing in our roof. They also served as our wakeup call the next...

We stayed for two nights at the Pachira Lodge. The setting and grounds were lovely and the Lodge is nestled in the rainforest with its own dock to the lagoon. Yes, the cottages are a little "rustic" but we didn't come to Costa Rica for luxury...we came to experience the country and its amazing variety of nature. You can only...

+ Beautiful tropical surroundings, sloth in tree very Near our room 0 rustic feel 0 this is to some extent roughing it 0 the setting makes high-level service impossible - No temperature control beyond ceiling fan - No shampoo - Electrical outlet not firmly in wall - Bathroom tissue not flushable - Walls very thin, you hear your neighbors very...

There is a very thin line between "efficient" and "conveyor belt" and this Lodge just stays on the right side - delivering what the tourists want in a cleverly managed, if rather slick manner. The rooms themselves were a bit of a disappointment with no storage at all so we had to live out of our bags. The hotel grounds...

Beautiful setting in the forest. The design of the villas are well adapted for the climate. Nice and very clean swimming pool. Confortable chairs on our own porch. Good food, very professionnal guides. I could havé spent more days. Our guide, Manfred was perfect. Sympathic, helpful, he knows his job well.

Just arrived home from a Caravan Tour of Costa Rica which included two nights at Parchira Lodge.I was impressed by the beauty of the rain forest and by the generally high quality of the facilities including the individual lodges. Without windows there are only screens to keep out the bugs and nothing to muffle the sound of the jungle. The...
