Our family visited Turtle Beach Lodge in the summer of 2008 and was impressed by the miles after miles of narrow canals, pristine canals, beautiful canals it took to get there. It was so deep in the jungle, in fact it is the most remote lodging you can ask for in Tortuguero. Then once we got there, our eyes opened...

To be clear, the wildlife is great and the lodge brilliantly placed. You will likely love it here. However this is a review of the lodge and the package they offer with pick-up in San Jose, not of the monkeys, frogs and bats. The transfer was on time, but, if you are six foot, a crushingly uncomfortable bus in which...

The lodge is placed in the middle of the jungle with beautiful canals and jungle walks, beautiful beach, jungle, nice garden kajaks kanoes etc right outside your door. The staff is extremely helpfull especially because delta airlines lost our luggage for 4 days! The manager did everything he could to help us. The boat tours both during the day and...

My Overseas Adventure Travel group spent two nights here so we could see the wildlife in Tortuguero National Park. The lodge is accessible only by boat, through a man made canal from Cano Palmas towards the Atlantic shore. It's a beautiful, secluded spot, full of gorgeous trees and flowers all identified with signs as in a botanical garden. The buildings...

The price is very good and the service is amazing. The staff is so kind and atencious. It was one incredible stay there. Some...

Surely it’s a unique location: deep in the wilderness of Torteguero at the end of the ‘Palm Canal’. The restaurant is less than average, the bar is ok, the turtle shaped swimming pool is good. The cabins are really, really, lousy. But who cares when the spider monkeys play above your cabin and the Toucans fly around the premises? One...

this was my final stop after 2+ weeks traveling throughout Costa Rica. I saw more wildlife here in 36 hours than the other two weeks combined. 3 types of monkeys, sloths, birds, butterflies, and all sorts of creepy things live on and near the lodge. I went primarily to see turtles nesting and was afraid this would not happen since...

My family loved our visit to Turtle Beach Lodge! We visited Turtle Beach Lodge as part of a tour group arranged through our San Jose Hotel. Though I was apprehensive about being in a tour group, and picking up the members of the rest of the group took a long time, it ended up being a wonderful experience. We were...

Young couple, late 20's, recently engaged. This hotel was really nice. Really private. Area and beach. Hotel accomodates less than 50 people. Good food. Buffet style. Clean. Jungle experience. Lots of lizards, birds, insects and monkeys. Bug spray is definately a must. We did the kayak tour, Canal tour and Tortuguero Town tour. All recommended, especially the Turtle Watching Tour....

The area of Tortuguero is rightfully called The Amazon of Costa Rica because access is only by boat on Jungle Rivers. Turtle Beach Lodge, 5 miles north of the town of Tortuguero, is a secluded resort spanning 175 acres with miles of jungle trails, a meandering private canal, and a half mile of beach adjoining still more isolated beaches. The lodge accommodates approximately 80 guests; assisted by a well trained staff and guides who ease you into an exciting jungle experience.
