Prior to our visit we were impressed with the helpful communications we had with Yamilette at the hotel. On arrival there was a warm welcome and as we were drenched from a rain shower we were shown to our room and allowed to present my...More
We spent our last part of our Costa Rica 1 month trip in Tortuguero. Casa Marbella was a great choice. It is ideally situated on the waterfront with a seating terrace right up to the water's edge where you can have breakfast or relax. There...More
We stayed in the upper level river view room, and I'd say it is completely worth the extra few dollars for the top floor, as we could sit outside our door and have gorgeous views, a nice breeze and shade from the big tree. Communication...More
We nearly stayed at one of the lodges but decided to stay at Casa Marbella for 2 nights due to the perfect location, and were so pleased with our choice!
It was basic but very comfortable and we chose one of the river view rooms...More

Hi Adam
Late August is a great time to visit if you want to see turtles. The peak of the Green Sea Turtle nesting season is the third week of August. If you come towards the end of the month (or even in early September) you will still have an excellent chance to observe them and there will be fewer tourists in late summer.
We have a variety of rooms (no two are alike) and only two of them face the "road" (there are no cars in Tortuguero). Some face into the property and others face the river. Rooms are very affordable and fairly priced according to their size and the view.
Our most economical rooms start at a very reasonable $35 per night including taxes (single ocupancy). We do not charge for coffee, tea and the full breakfast served between 7:00-10:00 every day.
Most people spend the vast majority of their time wildlife watching in the national park (which is practically next door), exploring the village and the attractions in the surrounding area, or sitting on our large covered deck overlooking the river relaxing, sharing photos with their friends and family using our wireless internet, watching birds or just observing the boats going by.
Our guests tend to spend very little time in their rooms so if you want a clean, comfortable and affordable place to stay as a base for your explorations in the area I would recommend one of the more economical rooms.
I see you have already written to us directly. We will be sending you all kinds of details about our accommodations, how to get to Tortuguero and what activities you might like to try. We have friendly, highly-experienced, licensed guides who would be delighted to show you the natural marvels that make Tortuguero a must-visit destination in any nature-lover's Costa Rica itinerary.
Thanks for considering us for your stay. I am confident that you will be very well looked after and will take away some great memories from this little corner in paradise.
Warm regards
Daryl Loth
