Stopped for dinner and lunch a couple of times. Their chocolate milkshake is the bomb! Also recommend their mahi-mahi fish tacos but beware, they are very large! They also have good cocktails. There is nice seating right by the water. Was able to see it in the sun and when it was raining and both times were equally pleasant. Check it out if you’re in the area!

Beautiful restaurant and people. The best cerviche that I have eaten and I have had a lot. Had the snapper with garlic sauce and that was the best version I have had anywhere. I don’t think that I have ever seen Bar staff work as hard as they do. Very cordial and will leave you smiling. The food was great, the servers were even better. Will go back always. Thank you.

We had dinner at the Fish Hook Marina one night and the views are spectacular. The food is average and the service is average at best. The have a very large menu and any type of drink you would want for dinner or just to stop.

We recently visited this restaurant whilst staying in the vicinity of Golfito area. The setting and décor is typical marina/nautical with a large part of their restaurant over the water and overlooking towards the Golfo Dulce.
Although quiet and low season, the menu, the food, and drinks were all above average and very good value for money. We got the impression that the ambiance would be exciting and lively in high season when the place is packed with happy eating and drinking customers. Certainly worth a visit.

Since we are Golfito residents we visited the restaurant Fish hook 3 times in last 4 weeks. First time we was really surprised - good food and resonable prices. The 2 time we ordered both meals were brought wrong and we had to give them back. 3 time my husbands meal came wrong and he had to give it back once again. After 15 minutes - I already finishes my meal - it came back again with the right meat but completely cold French fries. So we gave up and left. Not even an excuse we got from the waiter.

Response from 20104Enrique, Gerente at Fish Hook Marina & Lodge
Responded 31 Mar 2015

We stayed couple days..Chris, Michael and the gang are awesome..very clean well kept rooms, food great. Try the fish fillet with garlic and the tacos! Cold beer.. I recommend fish hook to all..did I mention the views. Awesome too.. cool breeze blows thru in afternoons on patio and docks. Speaking of docks Jose runs a clean tight ship in that department and he'll hook you up for fishing too. Go check it out you want be sorry.

Stayed here a few weeks ago. Great open air atmosphere with friendly staff and guests. Nothing better than having breakfast with a beautiful water view. Bar prices were very reasonable. Room was clean with tv, excellent wifi and a strong air conditioner. Try the cheeseburger, it was the best one I've had in Latin America.

A gorgeous place to sit under a cabana and watch the boats as you eat a delicious meal. Great service, spaghetti with awesome sauce, great shrimp and fish meals.
Cost was reasonable, plentiful seating and fast service. Very relaxing, enjoyable ambiance.

My son and I stayed here on both sides of a deep sea fishing trip from Golfito.

For lodging, this is a fairly simple set up with maybe six rooms attached to a bar/restaurant and a small marina.

Good: The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was super convenient for me (it could not have been better). The food was good at the bar and restaurant, and the service was good there.

Not so Good: The air conditioning in the room was not as strong as I would have liked. The music from the bar is a bit loud, carrying over to the room.

Bottom line: I will stay here again if I go back to Golfito.
