Stopped for dinner and lunch a couple of times. Their chocolate milkshake is the bomb! Also recommend their mahi-mahi fish tacos but beware, they are very large! They also have good cocktails. There is nice seating right by the water. Was able to see it in the sun and when it was raining and both times were equally pleasant. Check it out if you’re in the area!

We had dinner at the Fish Hook Marina one night and the views are spectacular. The food is average and the service is average at best. The have a very large menu and any type of drink you would want for dinner or just to stop.

We had lunch at Fish Hook Marina while waiting for a boat to take us to one of the lodges inside the Gulf. The food was good: TexMex type fair but with a few Costa Rican specials as well. Beer was nice and cold!

I've stayed at the Fish Hook twice now and have enjoyed it very much. Firstly, the marina aspect...excellent dock staff and facilities. Everyone associated with the docks etc were extremely helpful. Jose in particular is an excellent, hard working individual who was always eager to help. The restaurant and bar were top notch. Between my crew and I we had around 20 meals and every one of them were delicious. I tried Manger Michael's suggestion of the pescado frito and it was the best I have ever had. Also, the service staff were excellent and that's not a common thing in these parts. The rooms were super clean and BIG, some with views and all with easy access to the bar/dining room and docks. Then there's Chris and Michael...these guys are the best. Super friendly and helpful and they make this place the top notch operation it is. Another big plus for me as a guy who doesn't speak much Spanish is that everybody I dealt with spoke excellent English. I have no bad words about this place and as someone who spent 20 years in hospitality I have no recommendations! Great place, period.

Excellent location with good local and frontier transport links. Fabulous room with huge bed and a window looking out into the bay ( one way mirror). Room temperature just right and had AC if needed, all potlessly clean. Restaurant and bar had a great range of meals and drinks, reasonably priced. Relaxing location with plenty of activities in the bay, additional costs o f course but as the hotel staff as they are well connected and will help you find what it is you need. Tourist information was open also helpful at finding activities free ones, to do. Plenty of walking if you like, or just soak up Costa Rica. Rainy season so you'll get wet, but it's lovely and warm.. Note, some places will take USD if ATMs aren't in service.

i spent 2 nights there and the room was very nice : beautiful and ancient wooden floor and closets (marine style), large Windows on the gulf and marina. Friendly staff. So it was a perfect stay after been kicked of the awful Esquinas Rainforest Lodge because i said politely their food was horrible, which was so true than i have been sick 2 days after a lunch at Esquinas. So Fish Hook was a perfect refuge after such experience

Beautiful restaurant and people. The best cerviche that I have eaten and I have had a lot. Had the snapper with garlic sauce and that was the best version I have had anywhere. I don’t think that I have ever seen Bar staff work as hard as they do. Very cordial and will leave you smiling. The food was great, the servers were even better. Will go back always. Thank you.

When bringing 'Artie' S/V up from Panama we ran into a few problems entering Golfito as we lost our prop... Jose (Dock master) and Chris (owner) were very helpful on the radio and provided help when we arrived finding a local to help tow us in the last few hundred meters to the marina. During our stay we had difficulties with customs as the boat was newly bought and US registered but awaiting USCG official docs. The marina has a in-house customs agent who made resolving this problem 10x easier. The marina is safe and clean with friendly residents and good toilet and shower facilities, i would recommend this marina to everyone. Jose was amazing helping us sort out problems we had in Spanish finding replacements parts etc.
