Detailed Reviews
The owner let us park our truck out front, and use one of the rooms for toilet, warm shower etc.
Although we didn't stay in the lodge, the room we used was very clean and well laid out, and we were offered food and a laundry service if needed.
It was a great base to visit the national park. The SINAC office is in La Gamba, 1km or so before you reach the lodge, where you can buy entrance tickets and drive to the entrance. Or, from this lodge you can walk trails, one of which, Sendero Ocelote, goes through part of the park to the official entrance.

A wonderful, rustic and affordable accomidation. The owners of the lodge were incredibly kind and accommodating. English is limited at this place, but please don't allow that to deter you from such a fantastic place. The meals were delicious and were made based on our schedule, something I am very grateful of. The wildlife around the lodge and the surrounding areas is equally fantastic. In our two day stay we saw Lowland Paca, Kinkajou, Great Currasows, Black-cheeked Ant-Tanagers, Baird's Trogon, Orange-collared Manakins, Fer-de-lance, White-headed Snakes, Speckled Caiman, many tree frogs (Rosenburg's Gladiator, Harlequin, and a flipping Boulenger's Snouted Treefrog!!!), and even an Ocelot!!!!!!!! The wildlife here is unlike any I've experienced in the neotropics.
I will, without a doubt, be returning to this lodge on my next Costa Rica trip.
Thank you again for an incredible experience!!

Well we couldn't stay because it was full, well, the one room was anyway. But we did meet Ronald and he is a typical Cost Rican, in that he was super friendly. He wanted to show us around so he took us to the pond in the back and we saw a couple Cayman and the Boat Billed Herons and other birds flying around. Ronald was so welcoming and friendly it was hard to leave.

The couple who own the Lodge gave me a very warm welcome . The accommodation is in wonderful wooden cabins with large attractively furnished rooms . You are made to feel one of the family . A stream and pools near the lodge attract a wide variety of birds some of which come very close as food is put out regularly. I had especially good views of several Boat-billed Herons . This is a small simple Lodge offering the peace and tranquility so often missing in our lives . It also represents excellent value for money .
