My partner and I stayed one night at Hotel Las Olas and that was one night too many in my opinion. First impressions were OK, I could see that the place was run down but I wasn't too worried as this was certainly reflected in the price. The stairs and balcony and hand rails that led up to our room...

The Good: Location – its right on the beach Reception staff really nice. The Bad: Rooms, sheets worn, holes in mosquito nets. No Kitchen. Price is expensive for what you get. Toilets and bathrooms dirty. This place is really run down and could do with some maintenance.

Outdoor joint down an alley full of locals. I love it, not fancy, cold beer, good food and excellent service. Beer is cheaper than anyplace in town at $2 or less. I will likely frequent this place daily. Highly recommend.

There's nowhere I've been that has offered gourmet local cuisine and simple, perfect accommodations, made to order by locals that live to surf and enjoy the simple beauty of the pure vida. My room offered a morning view of the huge, incredible surf and the sound of the waves and the easy reggae soundtrack lulled me into deep wonderful sleep...

Great little thatched hut right on the beach. We were quite surprised at the wonderful homeade pancakes. They aren't the big fluffly pancakes but rather a more natural nice pancake. The Gallo Pino was a bit dissapointing as it was quite dry. The batidos were nice and natural and not too sweet. The service for us was better than average...

We went there for lunch, made that mistake because it was the first place you find if you come walking on the beach from Jaco. There were 3 employees but only the cook was actually working and paying attention to guests. The two girls -one Fiorella and one Amanda- were too busy talking to some friends to actually work. They...

A group (9) of us went here for lunch a few days ago. The food was pretty good - we loved the fish sandwiches, but our Tico family said the food was 'OK' as they got Casado with steak. The location is right on the brag and a nice atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and multilingual, able to fluently speak...

The breakfast is dreamy! Pancakes, yogurt (sort of juice though), granola, fresh fruit, wafles, batidos, eggs, coffee, sandwiches, everything you need really... Right on the beach. Friendly staff. They also have lunch and diner but we didnt try it.

I stayed here with my boyfriend in February 2014. Neither of us surf -- but we loved it just the same. True, our room had no AC (I understand other rooms do), was separated from the office by a thin wall, had the worst mattress ever, and abutted a noisy kitchen at the restaurant next door. It was basic in...

I've stayed here several times and I cant wait to go back. My last stay in Feb. was one of my best. What makes this place so great? In my opinion, its Jason and Raffa. They are both great people who go out of there way to make sure that their guests have a great time. They will help you...
