I have been traveling in Costa Rica for the past 3 yeas and finally I found my paradise. Pachamama is the real paradise in Santa Teresa because the Hotel is well maintained and the owners make you very well come and give you the best advise to have a good stay in the region. The gardens are very pretty and...

A sequel; indeed another very excellent two weeks with Franz and Anancio at their inspired accommodation where every activity that could be associated with a pacific coast tropical destination is relentlessly attended to and catered for. Defining a great vacation is reflected when it concludes by a pleasantly altered state of mind that makes a return to the familiar wholly...

We just spend 10 days at Pacha Mama with our kids and had a wonderful time. Franz was a great host, he set our boys up with boards and showed them all the good surfing spots. This is our second visit to Pacha Mama, we first found it about five years ago and had always wanted to get back. We...

If you have one choice of destination in Costa Rica it should be defenitely Mal Pais that offers bagpackers a real adventure and space for relaxing with cool people hanging around the streets without being packed on the beautiful beaches , that also a paradise for surfers. Despite the bumpy roads the transportation is well organised so don’t be afraid...

We've been back in the United States for two weeks now and all I'm doing is dreaming of the day we return to Pachamama! Originally, we booked just 3 nights here but ended up staying for nearly 3 weeks. In fact, we left and went to the Caribbean and came right back here. It's simply the best! Franz, Marta and...

This is my favorite place to be! I have been visiting Pachamama for the last ten years. You will not find a better host than Franz. Fantastic place to stay! Great quiet location, just a short walk into the main town, only a stones throw to a beautiful tranquil part of the beach and great hosts. Pachamama is truly a little slice of heaven. Yoga and massages from the platform with ariel views of the coastline is just amazing. I have stayed here multiple times over...

Pachamama is our home away from home. We try to stay at Pachamama when we visit Mal Pais and when we haven't it's because it was full. We always try Pachamama first. Franz takes really good care of everyone and to him, everyone is family. He cares about people genuinely and cares about keeping Costa Rica beautiful as he honors...

My friend and I stayed at Pachamama for just over a week in January 2016. We cannot say enough great things about the place. Was near enough to places but far enough away to get away from the dust and people in the rest of Mal Pais and to really experience a relaxing holiday. Having cooking facilities in our accommodation...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pachamama Houses and Bungalows is the perfect place for people who like sports, nature, sun and beach. Only 1 km away is Cabo Blanco, the first national park created in Costa Rica, in 1963.We have two bungalows, each with a double bed and shared terrace for $60 a night, monthly $1400. A third bungalow is on a second floor with a double bed and private terrace. All lodgings are fully equipped with hammock, kitchen, fridge, fan, private bathroom with hot water. The house for rent has air condition and is fully equipped. There are 2 bedrooms, a beautiful terrace with BBQ, outside shower, hammock for $140 per night, monthly $2800. We have wireless internet, security 24 hours, private parking and cleaning service. It is the best option, for relaxing and enjoying the nature. We have a lot of wildlife in our tropical garden: butterflies, exotic birds and monkeys hanging around in the trees, and our coati, a sort of raccoon, which always comes to pick up his breakfast from us. The bungalows and the house are about 50m from the beautiful and quiet beach of Mal Pais. Here surfers find perfect waves year round. Air temperature is 30-35 degrees and water 24-26. We offer surfboard rentals and surf lessons. I'm a passionate kite surfer and if there is coming up some wind I'm in the ocean with a 16 m2 Kite. The wind is 15-20 knots from January to May. It is possible to rent a small house for $80 a night as well. It is fully equipped in a very beautiful and quiet place only 200m from the beach. Perfect location for 2 people. Monthly $1500We can reserve a hotel and transfer in San Jose, or book you a rental car in San Jose or in Mal Pais. ... more   less
