This was my second time visiting Mal Pais and Pachamama, and i can't say enough the amount of fun i had there. Its a great place to relax in the Jungle and watch the monkeys in the trees above you, or its just a short walk across the street to go sit by the ocean. If your looking to go...

This was my 2nd and definitely not my last time visiting Pachmama! There are so many things to do and the people at Pachamama are so helpful to make sure you get to do everything you want in Mal Pais. I could hangout in the garden all day and not feel that I wasted a day just because it's so...

Pachamama is my favourite place to stay in Costa Rica. The bungalow is clean and has a kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook for yourself. There is a large outdoor space (shared between two bungalows) with hammocks, couches, tables, and even an outdoor shower. The garden is beautiful thanks to Amancio! The howler monkeys even come over some...

We stayed there my sister and myself for three nights and we had really nice experience. The lodge is very charming surrounded by a tropical garden. There is a direct access to the beach at 200 meters. The owner Franz is very welcoming and made his best to facilitate our stay by helping us book activities to do in the...

It's amazing how everything is detailed with good taste and convenience. Very good located, both Franz and Venancio tried to make us feel at home, and they succeed. Rooms are really full equipped and we did not miss a thing, We are looking forward to go back as soon as possible.

Pachamama was our favourite stay in Costa Rica due to many reasons: - Franz, the owner, is a wonderful person and gave us fantastic recommendations (e.g., beaches, surf lessons). While we often felt ripped off in Costa Rica, he was one of the hosts you can trust and who makes you feel at home. - Our bungalow had a fairly...

Pachamama Hotel is the perfect hide-away. Other than sliding open a gate to enter and exit the property, you will not feel as though you are at a hotel. Franz, the proprietor, has nestled his cabanas into the forest foliage at the base of a hill in Malpais. The result is a feeling of solitude and harmony with the rustic...

We'll be back! Next time hopefully with some friends or family so we can rent the house on the property. We stayed in the 2nd floor bungalow, it was perfect with all the amenities including a kitchen so we didn't have to eat out every meal. We were tucked into the beautiful Costa Rican scenery, away from the hustle and...

Hey this was nice, totally chillaxed, great Host in Franz, really made me feel like I'd lived there all my life. Beach is real close by and has a no break area, great for old farts like me, get out to the back line real easy and can launch a stand up paddle any state of tide. But Pachamama was...

Pachamama was an oasis! It was quiet, beautiful, super clean, tranquil and relaxed. But best of all, was the owner and host, Franz. Many reviews mention his dedication and hospitality and I agree whole heartedly! He really made you feel like an old friend. He took care of everything, morning surf trips, supermarket trips, recommendations to anything you can think...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pachamama Houses and Bungalows is the perfect place for people who like sports, nature, sun and beach. Only 1 km away is Cabo Blanco, the first national park created in Costa Rica, in 1963.We have two bungalows, each with a double bed and shared terrace for $60 a night, monthly $1400. A third bungalow is on a second floor with a double bed and private terrace. All lodgings are fully equipped with hammock, kitchen, fridge, fan, private bathroom with hot water. The house for rent has air condition and is fully equipped. There are 2 bedrooms, a beautiful terrace with BBQ, outside shower, hammock for $140 per night, monthly $2800. We have wireless internet, security 24 hours, private parking and cleaning service. It is the best option, for relaxing and enjoying the nature. We have a lot of wildlife in our tropical garden: butterflies, exotic birds and monkeys hanging around in the trees, and our coati, a sort of raccoon, which always comes to pick up his breakfast from us. The bungalows and the house are about 50m from the beautiful and quiet beach of Mal Pais. Here surfers find perfect waves year round. Air temperature is 30-35 degrees and water 24-26. We offer surfboard rentals and surf lessons. I'm a passionate kite surfer and if there is coming up some wind I'm in the ocean with a 16 m2 Kite. The wind is 15-20 knots from January to May. It is possible to rent a small house for $80 a night as well. It is fully equipped in a very beautiful and quiet place only 200m from the beach. Perfect location for 2 people. Monthly $1500We can reserve a hotel and transfer in San Jose, or book you a rental car in San Jose or in Mal Pais. ... more   less
