The best feature hands down are the monkeys. They came out to play in the trees around 4pm. We stayed in one of the private bungalows (room 5) and were able watch the monkeys from the comfort of our own balcony. The bungalow rooms have an amazing rustic feel, overlooking a creek that flows through the resort. The rooms include...

Hotel Byblos was a great experience. True, the rooms could use some updating, but the staff was exceptionally friendly and the bar area was fun, providing free Latin dance lessons and a Ladies Nite!! At 3pm everyday, two types of monkeys would swing through the trees surrounding the pool! In a great location, we easily walked the 2km to Manuel...

Staff is friendly and breakfast sufficient but property is a bit worn. The photos shown are of the cabins but our room was in the hotel building (up several flights of steps). The room was OK with working A/C, refrig, microwave. An annoyance, however, was the constant thump from the music in the attached bar (and we were 2 flights...

I stayed a night here and really enjoyed it. I was somewhat skeptical of the Casino and Sports bar crowd/atmosphere part of this hotel but I stayed in one of the jungle Villas and it was very nice. The Casino/Sports bar is away from the villas (but closer to the regular hotel rooms). They may be more of a negative...

We didnt stay at the hotel itself, rather a rental property from the same owners- Casa Sarita. We did however visit Byblos daily for breakfast, use of the pool, and help from the amazing concierge- Melissa. We had the pleasure of being in Costa Rica while the owners were also in town and they were friendly and very helpful in...

I went out on a limb and booked a vacation with Byblos on a recommendation from a friend. I had never been out of the US before. I had no idea what to expect or really what to do in Costa Rica, but i was really wanting an adventure. An adventure is exactly what I got! I love hiking, sight...

Byblos was by far the best hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica. We stayed in a bungalow, and it was awesome! Like being in your own jungle tree house! Monkeys, lizards and birds were right off the front deck, and lush rain forest surrounds everything. The room was spacious and clean, the pool was cool, the food was good,...

We stayed at Byblos for 4 nights and it was lovely. Friendly people, good food, excellent tours. Our room had many steps, so if you are not in good condition you might want to rethink this. The monkeys everyday were brilliant, our favorite part!

Staff was very accommodating. They willingly moved us three times to ensure that we were happy. Property is very convenient to various restaurants. Grounds with lush vegatation and lots of monkeys makes for a sense of adventure. Melissa and her team were very helpful in setting up excursions. [No more white water rafting!!! until our next visit.]

Rooms: Having stayed at the Byblos three times, in four different rooms I feel very qualified in saying the rooms are very clean and bug free; you may see an occasional ant or two; but lets get real here it is a rain forest you're in. If the rooms were not clean and bug free we would not have stayed,...
