The rooms have air conditioning which was important. Breakfast was good and had the option of some kind of fish. In the morning and evening troops of monkey would travel through in the forest which is just beside many of the rooms. Howler monkeys could be heard during the night so you might want to take ear plugs if you...

We enjoyed this hotel for a number of reasons, but probably the most fun was the daily visit of the local monkeys at breakfast. The restaurant is open air, so watch your bananas closely! The staff was friendly and attentive and the room was immaculate. The beds were very comfy. There is no phone in the room, so if you...

The Karahe is great for any kind of traveler. It is reasonably priced, excellent staff, and just beautiful surroundings. We did stay beachside. We did a girls trip the first week of April and it was perfect. Our room was very comfortable and modern. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching all the animals, birds and butterflies. The pool,...

I visit this hotel with my family at least once a year. If you go from San José, due the traffic during a weekend it is a little bit far from (maybe 3-4 hours on rush schedules), but you can go there by an internal flight that could take less than 30 min from San José. Once you are there...

This hotel was in a perfect location. It is one of the few hotels that sit close enough to the beach that you have access to the beach from it's property. Most hotels in the area are up a steep hill that require quite a walk to the beach. There are chairs and lounge chairs that you may take out...

Our family of 4 recently stayed in this hotel on the beach side with a patio on the first floor. I wish i have better review for this place. We like rustic but was not expecting a fixer upper. This hotel is old and lacks maintenance, and needs heavy update or should at least invest it on a new AC...

Great beachside location for wonderful restaurant and beach viewing and swimming. However my room was over the road and extremely difficult to climb up to especially at night as lighting was poor. My room was nice and I enjoyed the panoramic view but would certainly advise you to ensure you have a room on the beach side when you book.

We stayed in a beachfront room and were so pleased with the location. Yes, right on the beach - but on the not so busy section of the beach which made it so enjoyable. Beautiful restaurant with amazing staff - Erica, Adrianna, Nadine? Rooms are clean and simple, and so much wildlife right off the little deck. I would definitely...

I had a room in the hotel on the beach side, which was fantastic. The room was great; had sliding doors with a balcony overlooking the gardens, and on the balcony were chairs, a hammock and small table. While this place is well located, take note that Reception is one side of the road, and beach, pool and restaurant is the other side. Towels for beach are collected at reception.
