We traveled with our two kids, 12 and 15. Tulemar was the best experience by far in all of Costa Rica. We saw more wildlife on the property than anywhere we visited. The staff made us feel special. Smiles all around. Mauricio Solano our vacation...More
Before my partner and I even entered Costa Rica...I knew I had made a good choice choosing Tulemar. I’d first like to say that the Reservation Director, Lisa S., was one of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. She made sure everything was...More

Over the top Nate! Thank you for your excellent review and for staying with us at Tulemar Resort. Casa de las Flores is a one of a kind unit; it's an updated and expanded bungalow and needs to be booked very far in advance. Good...More

Officially the rainy season begins May 1 and ends November 30. The Caribbean side has more rain more of the year in general. Some years the rains begin in mid to late April and some years later in May but the rains come on gradually, and the days are beautiful with occasional rains in the afternoon and often overnight. As May ends the rains increase through mid July sometime when there is a mini dry season of a couple weeks duration. Then from August onward the rains intensify until the rain is almost relentless. The northern Pacific coast is the least rainy but it is relative.
Traveling in early May can get you great accommodations at reduced rates and beautiful weather with slimmer crowds.

All villas are about same in regards to views, amenities, etc. Getting to beach from any villa will require a shuttle ride or serious mountain hiking. Ocean views are restricted - more jungle than ocean. You are a long way from the beach - so far away you will never hear the surf. The whole resort is built on the side of a mountain. A steep climb up or down is required to go any place or do anything.
