I arrived in Montezuma after a quite adventurous tour along side the cost down from Samara. The small town is a great place to relax and just enjoy life. Luz en el cielo is a wonderful basis to do that. Suited slightly above the village, the little cottages and rooms make you feel like sleeping directly within the jungle. After...

Very nice place, good hammocks, nice owner. The breakfast included is pancakes coffee and fruits: very good! Good location. The dorm and bathroom were clean. The wifi wasnt working very well. The waking up by the screaming monkeys is very fun:)

I slept in the 4 person mixed dorm. The room was tided up every morning. Everything was clean and nice (it's really hard to maintain it in a tropical country). Location is perfect - 4 minutes far from the bus station. You can see monkeys and other amazing creatures while eating breakfast which is included in price. STAFF IS THE...

This hostel has a super friendly and helpful staff. Gave us good tipps for costarican food and hiking. The breakfast alternates between a tipical costarican gallo pinto and scrambled eggs. And pancakes. Both with fresh fruits. The rooms are really clean and since they just have bugg nets as windows, you feel like you are actually sleeping in the jungle....

This Hostel is a real treasure! It may cost a little more than the usual "backpacker dorm" but it's totally worth it. 1. Superfriendly staff that really likes to help and has very honest and good advice, 2.rooms are clean, big enough and have a balcony, 3.it's in the jungle and you'll see a variety of animals around you, yet...

This hostel is very basic but is good value for a traveller on a budget. I paid 15 USD a night to stay in the 6 person mixed dorm. The dorms are not up to Western European standards but do the job. I think the people who have left negative reviews did not factor in how much they paid to...

The breakfast included in room cost was great but compared to the quaint hostel next door (Luna Llena) the dorms here were much noisier, smaller, and brighter (when trying to sleep). There is nowhere but the floor to place belongings when on the top bunk so I slept with things stashed under my pillow. They have small lockers outside the...

My friend and I stayed at Luz en el Cielo during early June 2016. We had an AMAZING stay! Literally this is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in (I came home and tried to convince my husband we should move to Montezuma). The setting itself is beautiful, the place is nestled among the trees in a super...

I stayed with three other friends in one of the dormitories (cheapest rate) that is attached to the main building. Our room was hot, but this was too be expected in Costa Rica and in a costal town. The ceiling fan helped to alleviate some of the heat. The space was very cramped. Upon arriving, the host greeted us and...

We are very sorry that you did not have a good experience at Luz en el Cielo. Unfortunately you visited Montezuma during the buggy season, and it is always very hot here. We are located in the middle of the jungle so it is very hard to avoid mosquitos and other insects in the open areas. (Most of the hostel...
