The place was great. The people that ran the place were very helpful and friendly you thought you were family. They had a really nice breakfast and certain nights of the week they a an awesome BBQ. The hotel was sort of at the end of town(less noise )and hidden away in a jungle-like surrounding with howler monkeys, birds, and other wildlife,..the...

The hotel is run by a very friendly Bulgarian/Costa Rican family. Very interesting to talk to. The pool was our favourite hang out spot. Being in the pool, you could look at the ocean and spot numerous animals in the trees above - monkeys, parrots, toucans, green iguanas etc etc. The rooms are spacious and the location in Montezuma perfect....

Loved our stay at Luz de Mono! We had a second floor room with two beds. Cute, spacious, clean, and LOVED the screen windows! You could hear the ocean from the room, plus all the sounds of the jungle. Felt like something different. Though it does mean the room can be pretty warm at times, but with the ceiling fan...

Having seen the cost of many other places in Montezuma, we felt that this was really good value, particularly given the location: just at the end of the main street where all the restaurants and shops are, and a few minutes walk from the beach. Laura, the owner, and her Costa Rican partner are delightful and nothing is too much...

We spent 3 days in Montezuma, such a nice and laid back village in Nicoya. Luz de Mono is very well located, in front of the nice beach, but we ended up spending more time by the pool, overlooking the beach, and home to a very peaceful iguana, to the delight of kids. There is a also a baby pool....

The place is well located close to the Main Street and it is surrounded by the jungle. You will surely meet with monkeys and other animals. However the rooms must be renovated. I left this place with a back pain because the bed was terribly bad. Breakfast might be better as well for the price we paid, we were missing...

This was by far the best hotel we have stayed at in Costa Rica. We have traveled all over and Montezuma and the Luz de mono was phenomenal . We didn't make a reservation and Laura accommodated us with ease. She was very resourceful and helped us enjoy our surroundings. We were lucky enough to spend Christmas at this hotel...

Stayed for 5 days in Hotel Luz de Mono and spotted more wildlife there then in some of the national parks in Costa Rica. Capuchin and howler monkeys, pisotto's, agouti's, bats and then there's the pool iguana that shows up everyday to warm up by the pool. Apart from that the rooms are spacious and cleaned everyday (and come with...

We really loved our stay in Luz de Mono. We had originally booked two nights on booking.com and due to the hurricane Otto we were unable to reach Montezuma on time to stay there. The hotel were well within their rights to charge us for it, but instead they let us cancel for free. When we did finally make it...

Monkeys livea round the hotel. And they come to the hotel and nearby food places to beg for food. Squirels, birds, ant eaters and alot of other animals live in the area as well. They have a nice big pool and its 2 minutes fromcthe beach. The breakfast was ok - but not more than that. Now to the bad...
