We stayed for 5 nights in a bungalow for three. Great view from balcony and abundant birds plus pygmy squirrel in trees nearby. Tea and coffee is available all the time at reception and there was an offer to dry clothes daily as the humidity makes drying difficult. Emilio and family were friendly and provided breakfast and arranged trips and...

The experience in this loft was nice. It´s a definition of bed and breakfast. In the lodge you can coordinate trips to see the wildlife, snorqueling and scuba diving. Breakfast was powerful to give you energy for morning trips (all departures like 6 AM). A nice place for adventure Special Tips: I drove from San Jose to Bahia Drake. Take...

We stayed here last year and couldn't wait to come back again this year for another 6 nights. Arriving from Sierpe on the boat (an experience in itself) for the beach landing, there was Emilio to help us with luggage for the short walk up the hill to the Lodge. Cold juice to greet us and a warm welcome from...

We stayed here for one night, before a 6am boat ride to Sirena. We stayed in the triple room---the room was simple, but clean and comfortable and stayed cool at night, and there was plenty of room despite the extra bed we had there (ie one double and two single beds total). Up above there are some bigger rooms/houses that...

We stayed 4 nights at Vista Drake and loved every minute! We booked one of the bungalows with sea view. In the morning and evening the trees just next to us were full of green ares and even some rarer red Aras joined. Not to mention all the other birds and lovely creatures we saw there and of course on...

We stayed here for the last week of our trip to Costa Rica and I absolutely loved it! We were met by Emilio on the beach and he took us to our bungalow in a taxi, as it is nearly a kilometre up the hill from the main building. The bungalow doesn't have a sea view, but it is surrounded...

We stayed in one of the rooms in Vista Drake lodge which is actually Emillio and his family's home. Our room was large and clean, breakfast was tasty and there was always complimentary tea, coffee and drinking water available. Emillio made us feel extremely welcome and was always available to answer questions and give advice. If you want a very...

Owner-operator Emilio is so wonderfully hospitable. We were only a couple but stayed in Echo Cabin with two extra beds, huge bathroom, expansive view deck with hammocks. A walk up a hill to reach the cabin but manageable with steps and rope . No car necessary since restaurants and beach are all walking distance and Emilio will help you make...

Drake Bay is a remote, wonderful, and simple place. Only access to this area is by boat or a very rough and sometimes driveable road. That being said, the Vista Drake Lodge fits into its surroundings well. We stayed in the Jacobin room. There is a mosquito net for bugs, some fans, open screened windows, and a shower with no hot...

I have NEVER met any hotel owner as helpful and as friendly as Emilio. Drake Bay will always be a special place for us, and Emilio has a big part in this memory... The family apartment doesn't have ocean view (the only room without ocean view) but has so many devices including a real kitchen a laundry machine (for which...

“Two bungalows have the best views and are up on the hill reached via steps. Rooms are street level near kitchen and could be noisier. Tours start early so that does not really matter.”
