Nestled in the pacific lowland rainforest of the Osa peninsula in Costa Rica, Catappa Bungalows are an ideal destination for travelers who want to experience the true beauty of undeveloped Costa Rica.We have five beautifully appointed Bungalows a short walking distance from our kitchen and reception area, each tucked in the jungle with wonderful privacy.
Leaving my hectic job in NYC for a week to visit Catappa was just what I needed. As a lover of nature, I was tremendously pleased with the surroundings. The cabins are clean and charming, and the staff is very knowledgable and accomodating. I particularly loved the waterfall hike, which brought us through primary rainforrest. Think seclusion! It's heaven. If you are looking for an adventure in the jungle, paired with Pacific Ocean views & activities, Catappa is for you!

Whether your image of utopia is riveting adventure or peace and quiet, Catappa is the escape for you. Located in the heart of the tropical rainforest, Catappa is never short of wonders, manifest in the scarlet macaws that haunt the treetops, the monkeys that awake you with their howls, the butterflies that seem to constantly flutter about. Catappa is staffed with knowledgable locals, who know the land and are excited to share its beauty with the guests that stay at Catappa. They can take you on custom tours through the rainforest, describing the trees, the birds and animals along the way. I recommend the waterfall hike, which takes you along a ravine until you reach a gorgeous, gushing waterfall with a wading pool that you can jump in and stand under the refreshing water. Unwind the hike with yoga on the Catappa hilltop that overlooks the ocean, a nap on the beach, or horseback riding along the water. With no shortage of activities, Catappa is a great place for a daredevil trip with friends, a fun family getaway or a romantic escape. I was there during the rainy season in October, which was still warm and beautiful, but I absolutely can't wait to go back again to see this place in the sunshine.…

A great experience and a great trip. We stayed two nights in bungalow 4, and both mornings saw monkeys from our deck. Spiders and howlers, wow they can be noisy! Scarlet macaws every hour! Pablo and Hugo were attentive and the horses were really well trained.
