Detailed Reviews
We booked this place as we wanted an authentic experience in the jungle and that is exactly what we got! The host family are the most beautiful people you will ever meet. The cabina you sleep in is very basic but comfortable with no electricity so be sure to be prepared.
We ate breakfast and dinner with the family for an additional cost. The food was all freshly prepared by Lorena every day and was delicious and plentiful. Lorena truly has magic hands! Lorena has a wood oven where she bakes fresh breads that taste delicious and has all sorts of plants growing around the property, for different medicinal uses.
There is amazing wildlife with every view, at all times of the day and night. We loved watching the humming birds in the mornings! Dalila, Lorena and Gustavo's 13 year old daughter, gave us a tour into the jungle, her knowledge of the local area was amazing and she was very helpful with our 7 and 4 year old daughters.
We drove into Puerto Jimenez and Playa Blanca during our stay and had lunch at a Soda in La Palma
We were quite anxious about staying here due to being so deep in the jungle with no electricity in the cabins with 2 young children, however we totally fell in love with this place and the host family, it was very hard to leave. we stayed for 3 nights.
You will need a 4x4, torch, hiking shoes and long trousers, insect repellent and an open mind to stay here

It is an eco lodge. No electricity in the room, and restroom and shower room in downstairs. Water is not hot, but feel good. The lodge is in the center of the mountain and it is at the boarder of the national park. We didn’t prepare any food, and we ate miss the dinner time. Host and her family are so nice. Whole family prepared our dinner together and it is a big meal. At morning, they also prepared breakfast for us. The price is very reasonable. Feel so good walk in the nature. The lodge has a pond. The vegetable in the meal is from their own garden. When we checked out, host gave us some bread which she made. We like the bread. Very nice host and her family! It is different experience but very good!
