We stayed 4 nights and each morning our breakfast was set when we walked to the table. The first course was a fabulous fresh fruit plate, including mango, pineapple, bananas, and watermelon. with coffee or tea. After the fruit plate he cooked us fresh eggs...More
We booked the hotel for 1 night with a group of friends. We were sitting at a table on the corridor outside of the rooms and the owner keep getting into our conversation. I went to lay down and left the door open and I...More
I think it is fair to rate this hotel but a have to say that we thought we actually booked different.
To explain: Is it a bit confusing; the hotel is located at the same land as the Corcovado wild hostel and I think also...More

Thank you for your comment about Arenas de Osa. There seems to be some confusion. We are a hotel, and not the same business as Corvovado Wild, which is owned by Christian. We are located on the same land, but run by a...More
This 'lodge' is a room only hotel. No breakfast or anything. Which is fine. We used it as a hub to travel to Corcovado and Matapalo. No thrills hotel... a clean room and bathroom. The owner is nice and helpful... during the day he is...More
A really nice place to stay in Pto Jimenez. We stayed there last June and May 2011. The new looking hotel is a 10 minute walk to downtown and restaurants, quiet and comfortable. The AC is great after a hot and sweaty trek in the...More

Hi Shirlee I think it would be about a 15 minute walk from Arenas de Osa to the beach where the swimming is good. There is also a lot of beach along Playa Plantanares, but these beaches are very steep and while they are beautiful for walking there is a lot of rip currents on this section and would not be safe for swimming. There are some cabinas much closer, but I have not stayed at them so I can't say what they are like. Cabinas Jimenez is right at the beach. You might check that out. There are also a couple in town at least that would be more like 5 to 10 minutes walk.
